Possible IJN Pilot Skull Found at Pearl

I too am saddened by some of the comments on this thread. My Sister-in-law is Okinawan and she gave me a beautiful niece. Would I fight to protect them? You betcha. It isn't the same Japan that attacked us and I sure don't hold today's people responsible for the actions of the past. Just...

    Cell Phones

I'm sure that a lot of us have had close calls. I doubt that there is a single one of us who can say we have never driven distracted, be that smoking, drinking, eating, texting, cell phone, reading a book, looking at the GPS, shaving, putting on makeup (Gimpy or Papabear) or yelling at the kids...

Sorry you had to see it Tigger. Thanks for what you did though and pass my thanks on to your other team members.

    REAL Basics

No, they are not full time (in your case) 4-wheel drive. You will either have a sprag or air-shift front axle. Welcome to the club.

Dayton OH, to Ft Riley KS: Summer Road Trip

If we are around I'm sure Gimpy and I can help. I have a place you can work on it to get ready as well.

    S-280 repair

Mine has scratches and dents. The good thing about a long haired roller is that it fills them in and covers everything nicely. I used the fibered silver roof paint on top, about 1.5 gallons worth to take care of any water problems.

You could get the el cheapo solar kit from Harbor Freight and charge a couple of deep cycle marine batteries. PM sent about camping.

Shut off Deuce when Refueling, or let it run?

I let her run the whole time and set the parking brake and chock the rear wheels. I let everything run when I'm fueling except when my wife is in the vehicle, she shuts them off as soon as I get out. She buys into the BS that a cell phone will start a gas fire which is total BS and has been...

Katrina Deuce Story - MUST READ

I read Sarge's story not long after joining the SS site. I went down there as well and although it was the worst devastation I have ever seen my story doesn't come close to his. I do remember seeing HEMTTs our first trip and being in a military controlled FEMA camp during the second trip. As...

    Splatter from tires

I have seen road tractors with the full fenders. While I'm sure they work IMHO they are the dumbest looking I have ever seen on a truck, especially those rounded ones covering the tires.

    air impact wrench

I just pulled a set of duals off my Brother's trailer to put on the front of my primary Deuce and we used a 3/4" air impact with a half inch supply line. Worked great, but one thing he did first was to sandblast (lightly) the threads on the trailer. Unfortunately we didn't have an adapter to...

    Deuce/5 ton ROPS Kit?

So far (even with a couple of sidetracks) this has been a good thread. Certainly not for why it was started but for the effort to improve the trucks if possible. I would think someone would take the time to write up design criteria. Will you want it to work at Deuce highway speeds or riding...

    Is that temp rise normal

I mentioned this very worry last week when I took the truck to Cincy. My normal driving is around town kind of driving and not interstate. So I'm driving a state route and at the end of the trip there is a hill that is a couple miles long and at the top my engine temp was climbing. Around...

    Another Thanks to The Gimp

Holy crap!! Don't say that, I about spit my root beer all over the keyboard when I read it............ :-) I wanted to do the parade with him this morning but with the chunks coming out of my front tires I thought it would be a good idea to get two from my Brother today.

    Another Thanks to The Gimp

Kenny, Yep, everything was free except food and the specialty exhibits. Only had one problem, left the doors unlocked on the truck. My wife says someone has the pass door open and is looking at something. I walk up behind him (dwarfing him) and ask if I can help him. He says "You got a...

    Another Thanks to The Gimp

Another week, another thank you to my friend Gimpyrobb. He had an opportunity to exhibit his truck for The Thank You Foundation at Kings Island Amusement Park in Ohio. I gave him every chance to get out of it but he still stepped up. We had to be there before customers and could not leave...
