Everything I have purchased has had taxes on it. I went in to see what I could do with the titles for the trucks and they were just going to deduct that tax already paid/collected off my tax bill at title time here in Ohio.

I just got my plates two weeks ago on one of M101A2s. I took it directly from the GL lot to a gravel yard and got a state approved weight ticket. I towed it home and next day I stopped at the BMV and got plates for it. No title, no nothing except the weight ticket.

Here's what I do. Get the title and a bill of sale when you pick up the truck. Drive home.
Make sure you have insurance that will cover you bringing it home though.
