We have a new Maserati dealer here in Alexandria, and it's real clear that they're "dumbing down" their cars to make them more affordable (so they can sell more I suppose).

You got to take the "Safety Nazis" with a grain of salt:
- They ultimately mean well (+/-)
It's just a real drag if somebody gets hurt where they didn't need to is all.
The engines AND the cars making up that train are remarkable, including that Presidential Pullman.
When are we finally getting our RR forum, and what's the story behind that train!?
Considering what they are (genuine, and storage condition), that price doesn't seem too scary.
And that's what they're worth. There is always the chance that the owner might let them go for even half that or something, who knows?

I'm sort of glad that they're out-of-reach there on the Left Coast, because if they were more available I just might be tempted to make an offer.
That's a lot of unexpected work you ran into there for sure.
It's pretty clear that "plug-and-play" modular components were not part of the original design concept when that rig was on the drawing board.
"Throttle cable pulleys"; that's old school isn't it!?
But who knows maybe actually MORE reliable that the latest fly-by-wire technology. Does anybody know?
