Answer to question NO. What part shown is aluminium? Fins yes, tubing rusted, NO. Not aluminum, steel. Check it with a magnet. Remove and replace $$$$ or pull it out., clean it up real REAL good and see what you really have going on. Good radiator shop should handle it for less $ IMO...

IMO... the fix here was a new balancer. If I follow correctly, the on and off, back and forth was becoming a problem. Sure it could work in some cases... if lucky. And to add, something to check on these old engines. Smooth running and balanced, CAMO
