Still haven't gotten mine to start.
Here's a question- whats the approx speed of a good starter? Is it similar to the gas version of the civvy chevy? Mine seems to be going about half as fast as that.

dual 12v. both batteries are in parallel. I've already disconnected the alternator wires. My question was more about the smaller wires in the picture at the top of the thread.

My branch made me send them a picture of the vin plate cause they didn't believe the vin wasn't in their database. But they did write it up eventually for the price of a normal blazer.

I'm doing what the originator of this thread has did. That is, convert from 24V to 12V.
I'm doing it because I thought it'd be easier to diagnose/fix problems that way, being that it would be closer to the civvy version.
The REC instructions are pretty vague on...
does anyone know what these two wires do? (the red one and the orange one)
I'm having the same issue as this guy, and I'll probably just do what he did. I was just curious about the wires' purpose.

ps, 4 measured infinite resistance (basically) and 4 measured close to 0. I'll have to get a more precise multimeter to find out how close to 0 it is. I just have an old analog...
Ok, so in my quest to start this beast in my garage, I've pulled the glow plugs to make sure they weren't broken and rattling around in the cylinders.
I tried to check the resistance with an ohm-meter, but I never could get it lower than kilo-ohms. (shorting the probes gave 0 ohms, so the...
Got the air out of the fuel- thanks bryab123.
Still didn't start, though. The batteries were a little sluggish, so i'll charge those up and try again tomorrow.

I'm not saying its not the pump, but wouldn't you expect a shop to say that its the most expensive possibility?
I hope its not, for your sake.
do you get any smoke when it does this?
