Sand it lightly, wipe it with oil, set in in snug. Next time, leave the old key if it resists removal, before damaging it.

Most auto stores have the terminals available in small quantities, on bubble cards.

I always start with the pedal depressed a bit. Never have the light on dim, and the fast idle solenoid drops into place easier. Hot or cold, it's just a habit to me. I rebuilt my alts with low cut in regulators, and it eliminates the light issue.

The alternator needs to rev up, to get started working. (layman's terms)

I found it. Page 2-75. It's in my 1988 dated TM. I'm afraid there is just no way to know, if you have an updated relay or not. By design, the relay I recommend modifying to will not stick on.
