I have been considering using the same materials to do a similar repair on my 2000 Silverado.
I have found that they make "slip on" panels, that are actually sized to go right on top of the old panel, and be glued on.
I have transported mine in an M101, backed in, with a block of wood under the front tires so the basket is above the tailgate. It is far from ideal(the fenders are too narrow so you have to try to hit both and go over them as you back in, while going up a ramp). I do the same thing when I haul...
I'm wondering if his airpack is bad, causing the brakes to pressurize.(or the master cyl plugged or out of adjustment)
I suggest you open one bleeder at the rear wheels and see if it squirts out under pressure.

What he means is, you need to get the axle shaft up to into the center of the differential. Right now, you just have it sitting on the bottom of the axle tube.

BTW, updating and following up on your own threads is common courtesy and expected.
Your looking for the source of voltage that is making your starter crank. It could be 12v at the relay(energizing it) or it could be 24v getting to the solenoid.
What brand and part number relay did you install?
Does your key operate easily and smoothly?
I would measure the 4 terminals...
