My wife and I have talked about getting a back-up generator to provide single-phase power our house during a lengthy outage. Also, I want a generator to provide 208V 3-phase power for my ~1950 5-horsepower Federal Signal Model 5 air raid siren, and any other sirens that I might acquire (a...
The Leopard 1 has an 800 hp multifuel in it, though it's a little big to be installed in the truck's engine bay:unsure:
Rear-engine superdeuce anyone? :p
The Cat 3116 on my truck has a satisfying turbo whine :sneaky: The 3116 in the M35A3 has comparable performance to the LDS 465 the M39A2 trucks came with, both around 170 hp and ~420 lb-ft of torque, though I think the LDS has a little more torque than that. The 3116 in the FMTV was uprated from...
Fiberglass troop seats?! Mine has wood - I must've been cheated :ROFLMAO:
Then again my A3 was #246 built out of 6000 trucks, so I lose out on the fiberglass hood too :p
One day I'll do engine swaps too, if only to save me a ton of cash!
I think it would be neat to put a Cat 3126 in the truck. I have an A3 with the 3116 from the factory, but AM General lengthened the engine bay toward the bumper and widen the hood a few inches to better accommodate the motor...
Years ago I remember reading a post on G503 justifying a deuce-and-a-half for a teenager's first car. Some stuff I remember or maybe added:
Learn how to drive a manual transmission
Fuel efficiency isn't as high as other vehicles, leaving little spare money for drugs, cigarettes, and beer
The...
Everyone else is spoiled with automatic transmissions? :p
I'd like to drive an M35A2 at least once just to see what it's like compared to my A3. I haven't driven a manual transmission in forever!
I'd take the regular rims to a tire shop that does truck and ag tires and have them do the tire swap.
if they were bolt-together rims I'd do them myself, and I have - and I lost about 10 pounds doing that job between restoration and mounting six super singles :p
Heh, I just repaired a sewing machine where that was the problem :p
@cessnapilot89 did you take the motor out of the truck and test it on the bench? If you want it professionally rebuilt perhaps a shop which works on starter motors, automotive generators, etc. would take a look at it.
I consider the Deuce the baby 6x6, the cousin between the M37 and the M39/809/939 :p The 5-tons are definitely more trucky, and I hope to get one myself in the future, ideally a wrecker 🤞
I think the LMTV bows, stakes and covers would be nice because they're taller than the deuce covers. I've never been under one, but perhaps you can actually stand up under a LMTV cover?
That looks sharp! That would get attention at car shows, especially with a fresh coat of paint. Great find!
I always enjoyed driving my dad's M37 - I hope you enjoy it too!
I didn't realize the Air-O-Matic was a military kit! How was it decided whether any were purchased? Did units who consistently skipped "Arm Day" get them?
I just bought an assorted nozzle size kit from Creality for my Ender 5 Plus. It came with two nozzles each of:
0.2 mm
0.3 mm
0.5 mm
0.6 mm
0.8 mm
1.0 mm
And it came with twelve 0.4 mm nozzles, probably because they make twelve times more of those than the other sizes :p
I started off with a...
