    USMC MB-5A 10kw, 60Hz

I would like to do that, but, in my experience working on things with overhead fuel tanks, some boats, generators, fire pumps, when water gets into the fuel and has an opportunity to sit, it will find it's way into things like lines, filters, boost pumps and into the actual fuel pump. I did...

Probably still have it in the pile of stencils I made. Does Herbie need refreshing?

    The next Project an ASMH

Did some goofy easy stuff on the beast tis week. Fixed a non op low beam, bulb just NFG. Attempted to get the turn signals operating. Had no light on the stalk, so I figured i'd start there since I have had multiple T.S. stalks be the issue of no turn signals or flashers. Found a pushed back pin...

    USMC MB-5A 10kw, 60Hz

Well, pulled the unit up to the shop and started digging. There are no tags on this that have an NSN, what TM s are used, nothing. Got it all opened up, put a tool on the crank and it turned. Good sign. Started looking around for batteries. It is 24VDC. Found it! A single 24V, 31 Ah aircraft...

Or just puzzles. My wife got me into that. But I only do them when we go to the beach.

    The next Project an ASMH

It is a pretty cool beast, however, it has been the cause of much pain, suffering and frustration. I also forgot to mention, after all the clutch hubbub, I tested out the rear controls. I set the throttle to wide open at the rear, disengaged the clutch and put the crane drive into gear. The...

    USMC MB-5A 10kw, 60Hz

Anyone have any expereience with them? we have 2 at the Museum and are thinking about getting them up and running. I have not looked in the library to see if we have a set of TM's yet. They are 10kw diesel powered, one is a Herc and the other White, 4 cylinder, NA diesel. They are both USMC...

A3 compressor, air system, relief valve

I am not familiar with A3s, but I have experience in OTR truck stuff. If when the A3s were built they set them up like modern stuff, there should be a wet tank, the first tank air gets pumped into from the compressor/dryer and then out to the other tank(s). At the outlet of the wet or the inlet...

A3 compressor, air system, relief valve

Don't the A3s have an air dryer? If so, is it popping off at the dryer relief or a tank relief? If it is the dryer, it is time for a service, the cartridge is most likely full or the valve is no good.

FOUND IT! TM 9-2320-211-20-3-1. It shows the rotopack and procedure for adjustment. I do have the linkage assembled correctly, the rotopack linkage adjusted properly, but, the clutch linkage is all wrong! The thing has been assembled in the wrong position, imagine that! Next week, I will un...

    The next Project an ASMH

I also decided to tackle the rear clutch actuation. A week ago, I took the valve off. It is just an old, all brass, BW tractor trailer hand valve. I took it apart and found the seal as hard as a rock. I ended up taking the valve to a local truck parts place that I have been dealing with for...

    The next Project an ASMH

Well, was yet another productive work week at the Museum, 2 days is a week, right? Decided to tackle the Holley issues by removing it. I am here to tell you, the last ones to work on this were idiots! SO many things halfazzed, loose, cross threaded, over tightened, you name it, I have seen it...

    Stanadyne DB2 rebuild

Yeah, but....always a but, if/when there is an issue, how is it resolved? Going through the new part return/inspection process, or, your local place? If there is an issue, the local guy takes it in, sometimes the complete vehicle, troubleshoots it and fixes it then and there if it their issue or...

    Stanadyne DB2 rebuild

No reason to buy new. a good ADS shop can make it like new or better. @Jyg101, where in NY are you, ya might want to put that in your location too, There are a mess of fuel shops out there. Google Stanadyne fuel pump repair near (location) and see what comes up.

    Stanadyne DB2 rebuild

@Jyg101 , The forum you posted in is for general website help, like how to post a picture, how does one message another member, etc. I am going to assume that you are working on a GM diesel, a CUCV or a HMMWV, but that is an assumption. Let me know what it is you are working on and I can move...

    My M813 gets a turbo!

That was my life for the last 10 or so years at my prior life place of work. Also did 28 of these in the field, had DD S50 engines and repowered with QSL9. And 2 of these. Took out QSM and put QSL9. Both repowers were to tier 4 final emissions.

    Source for Shackles?

This is correct, as in the rears are not offset. The ones in the pic from post 13 are normal lifting or off road shackles. Remember kids, the ones that came on these trucks were non thread in pins, securing clip tethered to the pin like the image the OP posted, the link I posted or the images...
