CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

So I got the axle seal from the parts store today and replaced it. I found all the bolts weren't all that tight. Came off with a quick hit with the impact. I did find a had the correct socket for the axle nut to remove it if I have to as well. I'm gonna change this diff oil this weekend. Sent...

Welding safely on a 24V CUCV

Just from my own personal experience with doing tons of welding on the body with the batteries hooked up, I've never had a problem. Mine are 6tm batteries. I'm not sure what you have in yours. agm batteries may react to welding, but not sure. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Found some more NOS parts the other day. Both mounts are new. I ended up using a green mount that my son dug out of the storage container though since he wanted the tan one. Ground down the old river nuts and they popped right out. Installed new ones and it's all mounted up. Dang axle started...

    Quality alternator rebuild kits

Highly recommend ASP Wholesale. I am pretty sure that is who most do on the threads on here. He is in Florida. I have bought at least 4 kits plus other parts from him. Fast shipping too. (727) 312-3133

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Rear floor was removed and everything sand blasted with the pressure washer attachment. Primed and painted everything. Replacement floor fitted and ready to panel bond in. Got some rear seat pockets to replace the ones that were in there. Got about everything we need to finish this up but a set...

    AcuTemp Refrigerator

I'm not sure how long mine go without being plugged in but I do have to take them out to charge them back up again. I haven't tested them this summer yet though how long they go before their dead again. I would like to do a switch that unhooks them from the unit when I'm not using it though...

MEP 803A in 1/2 ton pickup truck bed ?

Yeah, getting it out is fun!! I had a hill I parked on and pulled it out with 1 inch pipes under it, so it rolled easy. I took the tailgate off, though! It pulls easy on the grass with a 4 wheeler. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Gen 1 Dash Light

Could be the regulator not working right or is the wrong one. At least the light is working!! Check the 2 pin connector at the alternator and make sure it's tight.

    Harmonic Balancer replacement

    Harmonic Balancer replacement

Quadstar tuning sells it for 5$. I bought 4 a while back when the stock balancers fell off the planet. They'll be making the 6.5 one for a long time yet though. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Harmonic Balancer replacement

You need the spacer...there's one I think on their site...the one you installed fits a 6.5 not a 6.2 so it's not as long on the snout...might need a new seal now as well. Hopefully the front cover didn't get crushed...don't start it!!!! Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

803a sustained load in high heat.

Good to have one with you just in case...the other people on this thread are way more qualified than I am on these too. So whatever they say works. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

803a sustained load in high heat.

Don't rely on those gauges...get a temp gun and check the thermostat housing...they aren't very accurate...it has over temp cut off if I remember right so if they do actually get to hot they'll shut down. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    MEP 803A Fix-up Thread

Yeah don't want to do damage to the engine for sure!! I think the oil shut down is 15 psi but it depends on that electrical sending unit to get that. Have you tried a mechanical gauge just to see if it is correct? I can tag you in a thread that this is being discussed at the moment if that's...

First MEP 803A, fix up help

That's the perfect place to put one for sure!! Finding a quality gauge is always interesting. I have the automotive style that has the long hose so it can be popped up under a wiper arm when driving. I don't use them much anymore though. I assume to install that it is a few 1/4 inch pipe...

    MEP 803A Fix-up Thread

I enjoy your videos. I think I have watched them all from years past. Just curious as to how long you loaded it at 50% before you think it might need a rebuild? If this sat a long time it could take many hours to get the rings or valves happy again. I know you want to check compression...

First MEP 803A, fix up help

If you know any auto techs see if you can borrow a oil gage from them. Most of the cheap ones are not very accurate like hf or napa all come from the same place. I have some very old american made ones that are spot on. Take 30 minutes or so to get a good hot reading and give it back!! Once...
