    4 Hour Oil Change

Thanks but no, the device I remember seeing consisted of a metal box which mounted remotely, like on the side of a frame rail, and contained special filtration elements which could be replaced at certain intevals. The box had a sight glass to monitor the "color" of the oil. It removed all of...

    700R4 Conversion

Respectfully - Please excuse me if I am out of line, but what does this have to do with a 700R4 Conversion? Is that D.B. Cooper I see over there?

    4 Hour Oil Change

On a more serious note, several years ago I saw an ad somewhere regarding a remote diesel engine oil filter. The normal oil filter was removed and an adapter was permanently screwed back into the same spot. The filtration unit mounted on a frame rail and had a clear sight glass, and also...

    700R4 Conversion

I am curious. Since I know nothing about HMMWVs, my question is - are the newer HMMWVs equiped with the 4L80E transmissions? If so, aren't these 4-speed with a parking pawl? If they are, why wouldn't the shifter stuff for one of these later vehicles work with an up-built 700R4?

    700R4 Conversion

joeblow - I cannot comment on the fit-up requirements of installing a 700R4 into a HMMWV because I have no experience in HMMWVs. However I do have confidence in the mechanics of installing an up-built 700R4 into a CUCV M1028. It seems to me, if a HMMWV originally had a TH400 installed as OEM...

    700R4 Conversion

I don't own a HMMWV, however I do believe I can contribute a few helpful comments to this thread. For the past 7 years I have been completely rebuilding/restoring my 1984 M1028 CUCV pickup. Although I am pretty much finished with the project, I continue to occasionally make performance and...

My M1009 came with a humvee transmission drain pan?

You may want to consider one of the Derale pans which has the drain plug, but also a bung for a temperature sender as well as heat sink tubes for additional cooling. http://derale.com/products/transmission-pans/cooling-pans

    Vacuum pump/late shifting M1009

I was wrong. The pump I have is my original vacuum pump which I exchanged with the NOS pump. There was nothing wrong with my original pump, I simply had the NOS pump and swapped it when I did my injection pump rebuild. The original pump only has approximately 13,000 miles on it. You are...

    Vacuum pump/late shifting M1009

I believe I may have a brand new NOS 6.2 vacume pump in my parts bin. I will check tomorrow and let you know. If so, I am open to a reasonable offer.

Flu, I may indeed be interested. I will PM you with my contact info.

    Bostic Motors?

Just had another phone conversation with Jeff at Bostic. He said to use NA injectors on an NA engine and Turbo injectors on a turbo engine, because the injectors are calibrated to the fuel requirements of each version of engine. Makes sense I guess.

    Bostic Motors?

If that is indeed the case, it looks like I will need new 6.5 injectors. Only question now is, injectors for NA or turbo (see my revised Post 18 above).

    Bostic Motors?

I just spoke via phone with Bosch Technical Service and was informed that the part number for the injectors to fit the 6.2 is 0432217104, and the part number for the 6.5 NA engine is 0432217275, and the part number for the 6.5 turbo is 0432217276. So there is indeed some differences. Do you...

ORD Shackle Flip and Stock Spring vs 4" Tuff Country EZ Ride HDs

Yeah yeah yeah. You just got to looking at my truck

ORD Shackle Flip and Stock Spring vs 4" Tuff Country EZ Ride HDs

The main reason I wanted to relocate the shock tabs, along with installing ORD's U-bolt flip kit, was to eliminate everything hanging down which could snag brush and rocks.

    Bostic Motors?

My injectors are brand new Bosch, and my glow plugs are new as well. Before I spend any cash for new ones, I will see if mine will fit and work in the 6.5. Hopefully somebody else with experience in this issue will chime in. Bostic claims their engines are hot-run on a dyno for 45 minutes to...

    Bostic Motors?

Thanks Marcus, you hit the nail on the head. I am preparing to spend several thousand dollars of my daughter's inheritence to purchase, quite possibly, the last engine I will ever buy. I have been a faithful and paying member of SS for many years and cherish the wealth of information on this...

    Bostic Motors?

After researching the many builders/rebuilders of 6.5 engines, I now believe the best units are assembled by GEP (General Engine Products) at their 92,000 square-foot facility in Franklin, Ohio. GEP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AM General which produces the Optimizer 6500 for the military...
