I'm getting gear oil from a part mounted on the left rear frame. The part seems to be a CTIS "T" that must supply air to the rear tires/rear axle. Is there a check valve somewhere? Anyone come across this?
Has anyone found a source to replace the 2 piece style A3 wheel/rims with a one piece design? I have removed my CTIS, replaced the wheel/rim o-rings and valve stems but still lose air.
I am looking for a A3 fan hub switch. It's the switching device that turns the cooling fan on when the engine reaches 200 degrees. It screws into the thermostat housing and has 2 air lines attached to it. I looked in the tech manuals for a NSN with no luck.
thanks
FYI
I knew this was coming- I had a allison 1545 auto trans out of a A3 go bad. Fluid smelled burnt and was dark. I took it to the transmission guy and he said the front pump was toast, he eventually found a new front pump for $700.
He said parts for the 1545's are going to be hard to find...
Hi guys,
We currently build M35A2 and A3's into fire trucks putting 900 gallons of water on them. I am thinking about getting a few M925A1 NSN 2320-01-206-4088 to use as wildland fire trucks, mostly as water tenders with 1500-2000 gallon tanks. I like the fact they are automatics and power...
I have got a 2 axle 8000 GVWR military trailer(don't know the model). It had a Deutz engine driven air compressor mounted to it. I want to use it for a flatbed, car hauler, etc.
What are you guys doing about trailer brakes? I think the best option is to convert it to electric brakes. It has...
So, I removed all the tire inflation stuff off one of our M35A3's, including chipping away the JB weld on the spindle. I changed the inner and outer wheel bearings back to the older A2 style and used the A2 inner hub seals, just like a stock M35A2.
My question: What is better/more reliable...
I am removing the Central Tire Inflation system on our M35A3's because they constantly leak down while sitting. The axle seals seem to be mostly o-rings, is this going to be reliable?
I would like to remove the current valve stem assembly and replace it with a normal style valve stem- to make...
Does anyone have the fuel volume at cranking spec for the 465 cubic inch turbo engine injection pumps? I am working with a injection pump rebuilder and need this spec, the injection pump he rebuilt for me does not start and run without a shot of ether. He thinks he may have the fuel volume...
Hi,
I am looking to replace an older M800 series 5 ton(wildland fire truck) we have. Are the M923/925 series trucks a lot better? Is it worth the swap? More power, an auto trans and super singles would be nice. Any thoughts? Thanks
M35 60 amp alternators with NSN # 2920-00-909-2483 and 2920-01-168-7899 seem to be discontinued. Anyone know what is the military using instead? I need at least 10 alternators rebuilt.
Thanks
I came across this NSN number: 2530015043976 and it appears to be some kind of air brake conversion kit for the 2 1/2 Ton 6x6. Can anyone confirm this?
Did the military convert 6x6's to air brakes? I thought only aftermarket companies did this....
Thanks!
I am looking for a steering gearbox gasket. I would like to try and get a gakset from Napa or Carquest before I call Saturn or Memphis. Does anyone know who makes this gearbox or know a part number? Thanks
I installed all new brake shoes on my duce and the right middle dual shoes are rubbing with the ecentrics all the way adjusted in. It seems like the drum or shoes are bell shaped. I adjusted the lower ecentrics with no help. Any great ideas to fix this? After driving the brake shoes smoke...
I found a MIL Trailer, looks like it held a Large Duetz compressor, it has duel axles and looks heavy duty. I was thinking i could use this to haul a car or some stuff...? Any ideas on how these trailers perform?
Upon replacing the clutch and trans in my M35, I noticed one of the clutch pressure plate mounting holes on the flywheel was stripped out. I was going to heli-coil this hole but noticed there is a shoulder on the pressure plate bolts. If I was to heli coil this, the bolt would not fit in the...
