Looking for a viable transmission for my M1010. Like the grunt of the 4.56 gears but need to do highway speeds also as I want to travel with Oliver. Has anyone put a TR-6060 in a CUCV yet? How does it do? Top speed? MPG?
Anybody know where I can find a lift pump supply hose for the 6.2 engine. The molded one between the steel fuel line on the frame going to the lift pump?
It’s for an 1984 M1010.
Thanks
I got my 1984 M1010 running. The fuel tank was emptied and fresh fuel put in with a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil. It also has a new fuel filter in place. For the record I did start it before changing the fuel or filter .....maybe not a good idea. It starts up pretty good when cold after three...
Just got a 1984 M1010. I drove a M1009 for 18 years as a DD but it has been sold for probably 8-10 years now so I am familiar with the CUCV vehicles but not polished up of late.
I have replaced the harmonic balancer due to age and cracked rubber, the flex plate due to several chewed up spots...
Has anyone used the Dakota Digital (RTX/HDX), New Vintage USA or Classic Instrument gauge clusters designed for the Chevrolet/GM Squarebody vehicles? I'm specifically updating my 1991 V1500 Suburban with bad odometer, incorrect speedometer and no tachometer and wanting to update to have all...
My truck has recently started leaking brake fluid but I can't find out where it is coming from. I had a very small leak for a few years but only enough to need more fluid every year or so. For those who are going to yell SAFETY!!!!......I use it in my yard only and I have never had any trouble...
Guys, I have converted my M35 to a bobbed truck and installed a dump kit on it with a 12VDC pump and controls. I have trouble keeping the one battery it is hooked to charged and it is so slow to dump and drop. The pump is required both on lift and drop. No fun. I have a (not yet installed)...
Guys,
I finally got around to draining the oil in my M35 today and installed the new seals that came with the filters. The old were rubber and the new were fiber. They fit in the outside groove fine and looked pretty much like the ones that came out. I put oil in and fired her up and blew...
When I converted my bobbed M35 to a dump I installed a 12V hoist pump (on one battery) since I could not find a 24V pump at the time. (the pump was included in the kit) I have had pretty good luck with it but when I am busy moving dirt I run the one battery down and have started charging the...
Hi, I have a question as to what happened so I can figure out what I should do to have it not happen again.
I have had my 1986 M1009 for 15 years. It has about 250K miles on it and has been running great. It is a backup vehicle so it does not get driven every day but normally once or twice a...
