    4A084-4 engine timing help

    I have a 4A084 with the cam out. When aligning the timing marks on the cam and crank gears, is it dot to dot with the dot on the cam gear (down) aligning directly with the dot on the crank (up) ? What use are the other two ( v and l ) marks on the cam gear? Thanks for any help.
