4A084-4 engine timing help

I have a 4A084 with the cam out. When aligning the timing marks on the cam and crank gears, is it dot to dot with the dot on the cam gear (down) aligning directly with the dot on the crank (up) ? What use are the other two ( v and l ) marks on the cam gear?
Thanks for any help.

Did you look at the TM? It should be in there.

I checked the TM first and it does not show the timing marks or their alignment when installing the cam. I think it should be dot to dot on the cam and crank gears, but TM has been no help. Thanks for the replies.

IIRC, the crank and cam dots line up.

The magneto gear aligns with the V and I, for the fire and TDC, maybe.
