Has anyone modified the "T" block for the Oil Sampling Valve to mount an oil pressure sender?
What I'm thinking about is scrapping the whole pipe and sampling valve and having the square "T" block (the part that's actually mounted in the oil cooler line) drilled and tapped to accept the...
I have a question about the Emergency Flashers in my M1009:
Brake and Turn Signals work normally under all conditions, and the flashers work as well. However, if I press the brake while the flashers are on, all 4 "flashers" go solid until the brake is released (including the turn indicators on...
I replaced the speedo cable a while back due to wild fluctuations of the speedometer needle. What is strange is that the speedo works beautifully now when its warm outside, but still goes crazy when its cold. When its cold, it will settle down and work normally after driving for around 20...
I have small (slow drip) coolant leak coming from somewhere under my radiator on the drivers side. I also have some seepage from my oil cooler lines (looks like from where the fittings are crimped onto the rubber part of the hose)
Since I will need to pull the radiator I was planning on...
I've been through quite a bit of the posts regarding CB installation, and just want to find a few more ideas for mounting locations.
My intent is to use the radio-plate on the dash as a mount for an external speaker and the "hook" to hang the mic on.
I've read that some people choose an...
I'm just curious if anybody could identify the unit markings on my M1009. The only thing I can really find on it is the number "UO22" stenciled on the front and rear. Its black lettering on a white background on the lpassenger side of the tailgate and on the passenger side of the front bumper...
I just changed the fluid in my rear differential. According to the LO the rear 10-bolt should take 5.4 pints of 80/90. I got almost, but not quite, 5 pts in before the new GO started coming back out of the fill plug. At this point its closed back up, but am I going to have problems if I leave...
I don't know too much about bodywork, so I hope this isn't a stupid question...
From the pictures attached, is this tailgate repairable, or should I just be looking for replacement? I haven't had a chance to take it to a shop, and figured I get some "educated opinions" before potentially...
How much arch should the front leaf springs have? I haven't really paid any attention to them before (enough other stuff to keep me occupied).
Today while under the truck I noticed that there isn't any arch in them at all. The sit pretty much flat all the way across. Is this normal, or are...
I've been experiencing this problem since I've had my M1009. What happens is that when I hit the brakes, the front-left marker light illuminates (along with the brake lights).
Today while poking around in the engine compartment I noticed one of those wire-tap things clipped between 2 wires on...
I need a little troubleshooting advice...
My Voltmeter died today. I drove about 5 miles and everything was totally in the green. Went inside the store for a few minutes and when I got back in to head home the gauge was totally off / dead.
Per the -20 TM, the VM relay should have a White...
Has anybody installed the polyvinyl floor mat that LMC Truck sells for the Blazer? My original rubber floormat was literally falling apart so I just donated it to the weekly trash pickup.
My original thought was just to use a "spray-in" type bedliner material in the truck, but after seeing the...
I am looking to add a couple of circuits to run a 12V accessory socket in the cigarette lighter position, and to power a CB. I don't anticipate needing a huge current-handling capacity.
I checked the fuse block and found a couple of "individual" terminals that have 12V Key On / 0V Key Off...
Today while tinkering around with my M1009, I pulled out the engine oil dipstick while the engine was idling. As soon as I pulled it out, smoke started puffing out of the dipstick tube. Now, I'm not a "Diesel Mechanic", but this seems like a bad thing to me..... I assume it means...
I just wanted to post some findings from a little experiment I did the other day. As we all know the M1009 headlights are adequate, but not what you would call "bright".
I decided to test out the claims made by Sylvania that their "Silverstar" line of headlights is 35% brighter than standard...
I have a couple quick questions regarding the instrument cluster in my M1009.
1. I need a replacement light-bulb socket for the Voltmeter gauge. I've checked part sources and can't seem to find one that will fit properly into the gauge. Anyone have a source?
2. Is the main instrument...
Today while tinkering around with my M1009 I decided to do a little investigation into the dim backlighting for the gauges. The light bulbs all work, but seem to be fairly dim....to the point where its difficult to read the speedometer at night.
I pulled out the instrument cluster face and...
OK...
Today I started the replacement of my turn signal / dimmer switch. I followed the steps in the -34 TM. After removing the 2 nuts that bolt the column support to the bottom of the dash, I cannot get the column to drop down. According to the TM it should just come down after its...
Can somebody enlighten me as to what the 4 bolt-holes in the passenger floorboard (front seat area) are supposed to be for?
I saw a photo of an M1009 that had some sort of bracket attached there but I'm not sure what the heck it is. I'm just moderately curious what purpose it could possibly...
Well...
:grd:
I solved one big problem today. Thanks to all the info I found by searching this site I tracked down a broken ground wire at the Passenger Side headlight connector and successfully replaced it.
For anyone else who may have a similar problem, here are the symptoms I had:
1...
