Got a chance to my 1942 MB in front of a 1945 P-51 at the pilot‘s request. Asked me of I didn’t mind moving it from a vehicle display area. Are you kidding me!! One of the best of not the most beautiful WWII fighters.
Storing this what should be a 7-13 -42, 1942 GPW, serial number 47473 for a friend. Frame number matches data plate as seen in pics. It has what look like some strange factory/field mods like an ash tray, cigarette lighter and rear tub extension with fuel can mounts on each side. Looks like...
When there is a M936A2 hanging out nearby. Used the wrecker to dump a full trailer full of mulch. The GoPro fish eye effect seems to show the truck leaning towards the load. It’s not. Didn’t lean an inch into the load even when the trailer was off the ground.
Cherry Creek Schools put on a military and veterans appreciation event our club received an invite to. I was able to get some pictures with an CH-47, the new replacement for the HMMWV the M-1279 (L-ATV) and a Marine 7 ton Oshkosh MK23 (MTVR) that towed in a M-777A2 155MM howitzer. They let me...
One of the MVCC members provided his ranch for a great backdrop and space for a gathering of club member’s mostly WWII vehicles for a D-Day anniversary gathering. We had a great variety of vehicles show up for the display including a 1943 quad 50 halftrack and a completely equipped and...
Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado displayed a few vehicles at a two year delayed event just outside the gate north gate of Buckley AFB. Great event and a nice showing by the club.
For the second year in a row the Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado (MVCC) has been invited to display some of our vehicles at the 2019 Denver Auto Show. Starts this Thursday and runs through Sunday. Here are the vehicles our members brought this year. Some very cool and historic units...
Here are some pictures of my newly acquired 1943 GPW radio Jeep. Painted in Normandy invasion markings. Well equipped with the original data plates and in between the seat mounted 55W/12V generator, canvas top under pax seat, two original Ford 6 volt batteries in the bed that power the radio...
The Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado rolled 15 vehicles in this year's Denver Veterans Day parade and after a club lunch a few gathered in front of Broncos Stadium for a group shot. The gold domed building is the state capitol.

The MVCC received a coveted invitation from the Denver International Auto Show to participate and will display about 10 vehicles. Show runs from 4 April to 8 April in the Colorado Convention Center just north of downtown. We setup on Monday 2 April. Anyone in the Denver area during this time...
When starting my 1985 M998 the wait light would flash for a second and go out. Impossible to start when cold. It has a KDS protective control box dated I think Oct of 2010. Figured that was the culprit so I removed it, opened it up and Houston we have a problem. Look at what is called a...
Long story on obtaining this plate which I won’t discuss as per the rules but after a few trips to the emission station where on the last one I finally got the fuel set correctly enough to pass county emissions success was finally mine. I turned the fuel back at the injection pump a total of an...
Friend is building a house out of nine 8500 lb 40 foot shipping containers. Moved a few around today. Dragged these guys around with ease with the 5 ton. Doing basic positioning. Heavy forklift will do final placement.

Added rear clearance lights to. the M998. Piece of angle aluminum drilled with a hole saw, three military clearance lights, some flat black paint. Here is the installation. Pintle hook opens fine. Can easily be seen from five and back. Used a "Y" tap on the left tail light harness for power.
Installed mudflaps on the M998. Used one NAPA 24 by 18 plain black truck mudflap cut in half and a $5 dollar pre-drilled strip of angle steel mounted to the two bolts securing the light guards protecting the rear light wiring connectors. Very easy install. Did have to round off the square...
M988 owners take note. Jacked up the right rear to change a worn tire on my 1985 M998 won back in February. Once the tire was off the ground I noticed quite a bit of side to side movement of the wheel assembly. Crawled underneath and found the reason. The tie rod end assembly was loose in...
For all of you who are curious how the pioneer racks mounts up under a HMMWV here is what it looks like. Just received and installed a brand new pioneer rack on the M998. After the tools are secured to the rack it takes less than 30 seconds to mount and secure it. Highly recommend adding some...
Put two MVCC wreckers to good use. Removed the box from a members M109 so he can replace it with a deuce bed configured with simulated armor that eventually will become the "Grimm Reaper" Vietnam era gun truck. More pics and video to follow. That's my wife on the wrecker controls lifting the...
I have M998 serial number 000337 obtained from Ft Carson, CO previously assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group there. Delivery date 2/4/1985. This has to be one of the very early units delivered to the Army. Question is did AMGeneral start at 000000 or some other higher number. Not...
