    throwing in the towel!!

    Im giving up. Im selling my MEP-701A. It runs really great!! It just wont generate electricity. I dont know enough about these things to be able to fix it. Im in WV. If anyone is interested in this thing, come and get it!!

    I took my MEP 701a to the shop the other day to get the AVR fixed that i screwed up. While im there talking to the guy, he tells me that the generator is not wired to its full potential and that he can make it a 12kw generator rather then a 3kw just by changing some of the wireing.     well, i have proven that im an idiot when it comes to fixing military surplus generators. has any one posted a step by step process to removing and replacing the voltage regulator on a MEP 701a/ 016b generator? I have got lots of good info off of here, but still im not even sure what part...
