Pulling a late night July 3rd getting to new transmission, PTO and clutch all installed. THE BOT looking sweet next to the Dodge showing it who is boss in the driveway. Don't think bad of me for all the oil...
@db72 Like what is being pointed out there are some things to know about each type of MV. Every one has some + and - to it. We are all excited for you, but do be warned you will be spending a significant amount of time and money and money and money getting your rig solid, safe and rolling...
Got a response from the guys at Lucas who said that none of their oils I was looking at were good for the brass. So I purchased 3 gallons of Valvoline Syncromesh gear oil to dump into the transmission.
When getting this done I will also mount for the first time the new PTO gearbox I bought way...
Welcome! Possible future M809 owner. ;) glad to see you here!
This is where my M809 journey started:

I have an M813 and love it. Some items you might want to consider for your choosing.
1.The 809 series 5 speed is not rated for a "hot" motor. I know people who run the HP of a big cam through it but do it "nicely" in an attempt to make it last longer. However, torque ratings are torque ratings...
@Mack90 The pressure plate I got from SECO is adjustable, on your non adjustable pressure plate did you happen to measure the height from the pressure plate mounting face to the pressure plate disc face?... like this?
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/proper-pressure-plate-adjustment-m809-series-with-manual-transmission.223980/post-2614405
New pressure plate and disc came from an EBAY purchase from SECO parts. Flywheel is refinished by Truck Pro here locally, They actually turn timed it in just 3 hours...
OK some additional measurements:
Transmission mount face to flywheel's pressure plate mount face=.977
The transmission mount face to the retracted throw-out bearing = 2.033
With the measurements from the pressure plate mount face to the fingers= OLD 2.312 and New 2.327.. This difference may be...
I am having some issues with interpreting the "markings" in the TM on adjusting the pressure plate. My pressure plate that was removed, and worked perfectly, doesn't even come close to the spec (I am assuming here as I am struggling to understand where the measurement surfaces are) and neither...

Little more work toward getting the clutch done and adding my breather lines to the axles,t-case. The transmission breather will come later. Will need to resurface the flywheel but at...
Had some extra time today and pulled the pressure plate and flywheel. I was hoping the flywheel would look brand new... Which never is the case..LOL
I will need to find a shop to refresh it here locally. My clutch plate looks different than all the others I have ever seen listed for sale. I...
Getting my transmission swapped while getting a bad throw out bearing and pressure plate out as well.
Made a couple of short videos about how to pull the transmission solo. More also on my build thread here on SS...
Today I spent a few minutes removing the old throw out bearing I noticed it actually had a zerk fitting on the bottom of it. There would be no way to lube this fitting unless you removed the inspection plate and had someone fully press the clutch so the bearing was pressed fully forward, note...
Pulled the transmission today. Remember clutch issue symptoms were that the clutch began to release closer and closer to the floor, also the clutch would "snag hop" significantly when attempting to ride slip the clutch when doing precision maneuvering.
In the end the clutch throw out bearing...
When I bought my M813 I had the same issue. I would drive and the breaks were fine, after using them one or twice they would start to bind... if I didn't use the breaks for a bit they would relax. One of my glad hands had been shut so the air couldn't escape/bleed off after the brakes were applied.
@Jbulach I am with you on this particular hitch being... well not how I would do it. @Lantzj22 I am a bit worried about it, I would just be sick to my stomach if I heard of the hitches failure and you loosing your possible precious load of cool cargo as well. Each point made by @Jbulach is...
On the end in the cab. Pull off the cable if possible and tape a funnel around it and fill it with penetrating fluid. Let it seep down into the cable sheath until you see it out the other lower end. Maybe that will loosen it? Like a drip feed IV unit. LOL
