The main differences that can be made visually right away are the two motor mounts that stick off the sides which are GG specific, the flat oil pan, the horrible brick shaped exhaust manifold, and the bell housing has two legs that sick out at the bottom.
In case anyone wants to know the...
If it were Me I would just go ahead and rebuild it. I wouldn't want to spend the money on a "NEW" engine and still have the chance that the joe shmoe who put it together did a sloppy job. If you do it yourself you know it will be put together "correctly"
but that is just me personally, I...
After my experience of ridding in the back I would not suggest going offroad ever. I was with a friend who was going to look at a Deuce, we went for a testdrive in an empty parking lot when he "accidently" went over a speed bump. That one little speed bump sent me flying out of that wooden bench...
That happened to my Suzuki Samurai lol. I was getting some strange noise from the throw out bearing and so i stuck my head down in the fender to listen while i pushed on the clutch pedal and the Trans and engine were acting like an acordeoane
I would also vote for a Detroit in the fact that they are so simple and will crank over on anything flamable.
But their injectors are very temperamental. you would have to do some serious redesigning in that department. But I could see a 6-72 being a suitable multifueler.
well for instance if 4 low or granny 1st were just a little bit "too low" for what ever terrain you were on you could combine 4high + granny + OD or which ever combo. It gives you more gearing options.
Im putting a Sm465/ranger overdrive combo in my m715 ill let you guys know how that turns out. Cant think of ANYTHING bad to say about the 465 other than the 1:1 4th gear.
So I have an m715 and thought it would be neat to swap in a 353 from a Goat. Whiteowl In N-carolina has them used but what im wondering is what else would i need as far as.. wiring goes? I was hoping one you Guys would have an idea.
Good thing you werent going that fast, my friend had the same thing happen to his Suzuki Samurai and the shaft whipped around punching a hole in his transmission and cutting a huge hole in the floor. I think he was on the highway though. 0_0
