    Driveshaft

    I'm replacing my u-joints and when I removed them this ring of either compressed oil or plastic broke off. Does anyone know the significance of this? Should it be there or is it trash?

    Update! The solenoid shorted on the starter, I replaced it and it started right up. The teeth are good on both my starter and flywheel.

    My M1009 died when I put it into gear, this happens now and then when I don't let it warm up enough. When I went to start it again, I experienced a loud whining noise and nothing else. This continues to happen every time I try to start it. I have pulled both batteries out and tested them...

    Is anyone aware of a superior mirror that is easily swappable with the standard CUCV side mirror? I find mine to be almost useless.

    I recently purchased a 1984 M1009, it started several times with no issue. Last time it took a half dozen attempts to start and now it won't start at all.
