    Cold shifting problems

Mine ended up being the valve body seal. Ended up buying an overhaul kit from monster transmissions and replaced all the seals ( I don't work for them, just found them as a great price). Banner Kit: TH400 Transmission. Hope it helps!

    Cold shifting problems

Buzz, Sorry I never updated this post, but it ended up being my seals. They were shot and not holding a seal any more. After replacing them, It worked like a champ. I didn't know this but when the vehicle was shifted into drive, you could hear a faint hissing nose coming from the tranny. This...

    Cold shifting problems

I'll give that stuff a shot and continue to investigate the symptoms. So you're thinking that it's the seals as well i'm guessing? Thanks burbn10.

    Cold shifting problems

I have looked around to no avail. So my problem is this. In the morning after the truck has been sitting overnight i'll go to start it. Starts no problem. Let the motor warm up. Put it into drive and try to go forward. So it will be barely creeping along no matter how much gas i give :(. Once...

    Gen light / Charging problems.

your heater core may also be clogged as well. Do you have an engine coolant temp gauge? If so, what temp does it say your truck is running at? It should be around 190F.

    Gen light / Charging problems.

Yea it should get pretty hot. Your thermostat might be stuck open. Let the truck warm up for awhile and give the upper radiator hose a squeeze. It should be pretty hard to squeeze, and if it isn't your thermostat is probably stuck open. If it was over heating, then it would be stuck closed...

I'm gonna try to get out this weekend and do some write ups for both Gen1 and Gen2 charging problems (separate writeup for each). So stay tuned, and i'll try to solve a lot of common problems like yours.

    Gen 2 Charging Problems Again!

I have been meaning to do a write up of this for quite some time. I think i may do one this coming weekend with a whole slew of trouble shooting steps i've found. Anyways, Trace the brown wire back to the connector on the firewall. Do a continuity test on the wire from the alt to the connector...

Starter Problems. Not so happy holidays so far :(

Yea the starter gear goes all the way out. and covers all the teeth on the fly wheel. So, i dunno.

    Gen 2

Not a problem. I couldn't find the napa or autozone part numbers, but they should have em. I just replaced both of mine as well, and it solved a whole bunch of problems :)

    Alternator

Yes, you are suppose to have 2x12v alternators. 20 volts seems pretty low for that one. it should be up around 26v if i remember correctly from the TM. This alternator looks like it is pushing more because it is the one charging both the front and rear battery. Might as well get new belts while...

    Gen 2

Yea, you can get them at any napa, advance auto parts, autozone. You could perform a couple of tests on them, but for $5 bucks a piece it's worth it to just replace it to rule that out. Trying to find a part number, and will post back when i do. GM PART # 356284

Nope. It was shimmed properly. Pulled out the gear and checked it against the flywheel and it looked fine.

This sounds exactly like your relay is bad under the dash. Check it out. Its a black cube looking relay about an inch by an inch.

Starter Problems. Not so happy holidays so far :(

Yea, it totally doesn't look like it's fully engaging. Yes it was working properly when i got it rebuilt about a month ago. I even spray painted some of the teeth on the fly wheel to see if the starter gear rubbed it off each tooth completely, and it did. Yea the flywheel is now a little chewed...

Starter Problems. Not so happy holidays so far :(

Ok so after leaving work today i noticed that my starter kinda grinded when i went to start it up. No biggie. started it up and headed home. So on my way home i thought maybe i would buy some shims to possibly get the alignment right. Ok so, this starter was rebuilt about 2 months ago and...

Overhad lights and CB question for M1009

Yea, i asked a bunch of people about this as well. I am still looking into it and have determined 33x12.5x15's would fit fine. Just make sure you are not running the wider rim or else you will have rubbing inside the fender when you turn your wheel. Other than that, you should be fine with...
