Brought my dads M1113 from Ohio to Florida. Just before i got out (army) in April, while cleaning out cold storage i scored a complete brand new spare tire carrier that a previous unit left behind. My PSG said i could have it as it was going into the dumpster. Scored an engine harness, some...
Nearly everything on the LMTV i can get from my local truck parts house. Don't let the military side of things scare you, these are very much over the counter trucks in one way or another.
The second mine started to act up I yanked it off. There is a manual lever for shut off. That is what i use. The issue is that the elctro magnet in the sos gets weak and cannot suck the plunger back in.
Just picked mine up. Comes with a lockheed martin Texas title of origin. These in fact can be titled. These trucks were meant for the Saudis and BAE canceled the contract. Also took pictures of the Mercedes Actross 6*6 they had behind the fence. Anyways, back on the road I go.
Done my fair share of rollover drills. Still up to the soldier on how to wear the belt. Remember, everything is made by the lowest bidder. I had a belt in a brand new up armored hmmwv we had received come unlatched with a little pressure. Regardless, its a travesty that this happened.
Tried to do that but the BAE rep wouldn't anymore. They went ahead and told me and everyone else the reserve. I honsestly think they were hoping for more. That 16% buyers premium though was bull ****.
I'll take a 5 ton anyday. However for a little more money get an LMTV. They go for around 5-8k, seem pretty maintained (depends really) and have many over the counter parts just like the 5 ton. The only difference is the LMTV rides like a caddy compared to the 5 ton....at least in my opinion.
