Good afternoon, I just posted in the "Pay it Forward" section of the forums as I am now looking to donate the axle and wheel assembly. Is this something that you would still be interested in? I am quite a way from New Orleans though, Plant City, Florida.
So, I was able to find an axle from Dexter. They have a part number that looks like it was almost made for the M101 trailers. It is a 5200lb axle, 3" tube, electric brakes, 63.50" hub face, 43.25 spring center with 6x5.5 bolt pattern. The only thing it is missing is a parking brake, but I can...
I know that this is from a few years ago, but if you are still following this thread, thank you. I was able to have my axle ordered and Dexter now actually has a part number for this type of swap. The only thing missing is the parking brake, but I can live without those.
I gotcha, for some reason my brain wasn't working and I thought that they were 8 lug, then I looked back at my picture. Well this should be fun, I'll have to see what specs I need for the new axle and look into E-trailer.
The lunette has been flipped, so a set of GM 8 lug would not work as it sits?
Sorry for all the questions, I don't know much about these military type trailers.
So any GM 8 bolt wheel should fit?
I don't want fancy, just looking to lower it a bit so it doesn't sit as high as it does right now. Looks a bit goofy and not fun to drive.
Good afternoon, this is my first military style trailer and I am having an issue with identifying the exact type or model that it is. The data plate looks to have never been stamped so I cannot go off of that, unless someone else has an idea of the markings that are on there. Any information...
