    Coilovers??

I am doing a restomod on my 53, since the original drive train was a solid lump of iron. I am going to be putting coilovers on the front axle. My question to you all is as such.. What spring rate should I be looking for?? I have searched the internet and get varied spring rate results from...

    Simple axle swap question ?

Why not do as i am planning to do with my Corp 10 bolt. I am making some new front hanger mounts which will put the springs out board on either side by 1.5 inches. That takes care of the front spring hangers. For the rear end if the front springs I am having offset shackles made the same 1.5...

    Anyone ever swapped steering wheels???

Power steering will be a future ad on for sure! As far as off roading, the truck certainly wont see any major rock crawling. I am not looking for a tiny steering wheel but one that is at least a bit smaller.

Anyone using an after matket steering wheel? The likes of a "Grant" 3 spoke wood ring. What sttering column hub adapter is used. I wpuld like a smaller steering wheel. Keep smackin my knees.

    Engine swap

I would love to "save" the engine but it is not an option. I am going to do a swap one way or anothet. I am wanting an engine i dont have to hunt for parts for or have to special order them from the states. Sooooo?. Whats one worth.

    Engine swap

I have a line on a sbc 350 for 100 bucks. Needs a rebuild but still... 318s are around for 300+ but i dont really care about keeping everything Dodge. It is more about what i can afford on a homeless mans budget! LOL. I do plan on swapping axles eventually however if it does go vroom there is no...

    Engine swap

I would love to use my M37 ad a daily to work and back truck. Half hour drive each way plus farm grunt work and the odd cruise in to the big city 2 hours away. My truck is a complete 1953. Only thing i think i am missing is the tool rack on the tailgate. I am still looking for inner windshield...

    Engine swap

I know the Dodge 318 swap is common. I know 4bts have been done.(way to pricey just for a motor) Detriot 353s are cool however way to loud. Sooooo.. I have been toying with the idea of a Ford (gasp) 6.9 or 7.3 IDI with a 5 speed. Checking on specs on the net, the block is 30 inches long on these...

    Windshield woes

I am trying to track down a new set of inner windshield frames for my 53 M37. I know "vintage power wagon" has some, or at least they show up on their on line catalog, but does anywhere else have them? I also heard they are the exact same as an M35 deuces inner windshield frame. True?

    Anybody ever put a 353 detroit in a m37...

I have been searching to no end. What 5 speed mates to the Detroit? I have a chance to get a 353 but is an old water pump so no tranny/ bellhousing.

    My 1953 M37.

Well it is time to post some pics of my 1953 M37! This new to me M37 is sweet! I obtained it feom a fellow Steel soldier out my way. He was nice enough to do a straight trade for my 1956 M135 project. I was even given an extra engine with a "spitfire" head on it. I am not sure if this is...

    Fender welts

Hello all, I am not new to steel soldiers, just new to the M37. I have been looking and looking and cannot find anyone who sells the rubber weather trim, welts i believe they are called, that go between the fenders and the body panels. I am in need if both front and rear sets. The ones on my...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Well final post for me on this thread. After sustaining a lower back injury in the spring and not fully recovering i let the M135 gobto a new home. I made a trade deal with a fellow steel soldier out in my stretch of the world. He took everything, M135, 12v cummins with spicer 5 speed, parts...

Body work - what gauge is the steel on an M211?

I am not 100% positive but when i gauged mine a couple years ago it was 16 gauge sheet metal.

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Ugh! Another set back. The flywheel i bought apparently has no mounting bolts that will fit for the thickness. I have checked around the city to see if anyone might cnc or lathe the hub face thinner by a 1/4 inch but nobody will touch it. They are all to scared the flywheel will blow to pieces...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Ok. Update time. I have still been tinkering with the old girl now and then, as well as my M135. lol! I got some dual step tanks commonly found on old grain trucks and the likes. The hydro boost master cylinder is a perfect fit to match up to the brake and clutch pedal assembly from my donor...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Kinda figured it had to be something along the lines of torque loading in the drive line. Thanks Gentrygarage. An M35a3 jackshaft is mighty pricey! 500 USD! That 700 ish CND. Might see what quick custom splined shaft and corresponding slip shaft would cost. Might be able to use already produced...

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

All right! First off. Wishing everyone had happy holidays and wishing you all the best in the New Year! Next. The u joint flange from the interm/propeller shaft is a perfect fit to mate to my spicer 5 speed! I also measured the cummins and spicer 5 speed to end up with a rough total of 73...
