    Tatra 813

Hi, I got posted to UK by the DOD (Navy chief) and then stayed on working for the us gov't after I retired from the service. I'm going ot be buying a 813 this summer to support my hummer racing habit in north africa. I have access to some parts. In fact, I might be buying about 5 trucks: 1 great...

    Humvee project

Duramax is pretty straightforward as far as mounting it goes. You can buy the engine mounts from AMG for the H1 Alpha that has the Dmax stock and it will all bolt up. You'll also need the fan shroud and a host of other bits. Something that you will absolutely need is a dash. The Dmax and Allison...

    250 or Multi fuel?

I'm thnking of picking up a 5tonner from a friend with about 6 trucks. Some have the Cummins 250, some are multifuel. I've been running a MF engine in a duece and have been pretty happy with it. Is there a significant advantage to the 250?? Is it worth paying extra for? Thanks!

Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20's - just finished!

Perhaps a silly question here: did you have to flip the rear hubs or do the supersingles mount on the normal dualie hubs? Cheers!

    Diablo Build Update (pics)

Now you know why you see the American Chopper guys, or any fabricator, completely build the project, then disassemble the whole thing for painting, powdercoating, etc before the final build. Done the same thing a dozen time m'self :-) You doing great, keep it up. It will all end, I promise! Cole

    what was your closest call?

FOr just that reason, I ALWAYS drive an OD/Cammo vehicle with the LIGHTS ON!! It aint pretty, but it really does reduce accidents. Anyhow, the reason I'm writng this is I just had my near miss: My 12 yo son and I jumped into my BIG DOG bobjobbed duece to go fill it up for a pheasant shoot in...

    Big Dog barks in Bavaria

Hmmm, the locals: remember that I live in the land of the Mini and the Land Rover, both icons of the small and cute. Kids LOVE it (because of the grill), men lust for it, women a generally frightened and drivers on the road give me a WIDE berth. I took about 20 beaters on pheasant shoot (very...

    Wheel questions - super singles

Take a look at the pics of my Big Dog in the "bavarian bark" thread. You'll see my rims from usa6x6. A bit of hard graft putting it all together by myself but manageable. I think the look great, almost stock with the ovals in the centers. The certainly make it wiiiiiddddeerrrr!. I'm digging the...

    Big Dog barks in Bavaria

In an odd way, the peculiarity that I'm experiancing with the airomatic makes sense, especially in the lack of spin back to center. THe whole system acts as a steering damper as well as power assist. When you have it cranked hard over and let go it spins about 1 turn and then buffers to a halt...

    Big Dog barks in Bavaria

Official gov't travel claim (yep, got uncle sugar to pay for the trip) is 1694 miles. That is direct door to door but I figure I threw in about 2 or 3 hundred extra by my choice of route (easier but not shorter) and touring around. I did send an email to Arthur at M35Products to describe my...

    Quad Cab updates--UPDATED 11-13-05

I hate you! ( said like a 5 year old whose older brother has a better toy) I have a spare cab and am GOING to build a crew cab just as soon as my wife forgets she told me to lay off the major construction for a while... Seriously though, do you think the 16x20's would fit on my bobbed truck...

    Big Dog barks in Bavaria

Sorry I did not get these pics done before I left but it was kinda hectic getting on the road. I just took these today in my drive as I forgot the camera in the rush to pack. Any how, the trip totaled almost 2K miles round trip. Left the UK, ferried over on the P&O to Calais, down to Riems and...

    Sound/Heat insulation?

Your joking, right? I'm in the middle of a two thousand mile round trip journey from the UK to upper Bavaria and back. I'm using 1 Ipod and 1 pair of mickey mouse ears. I slapped a MIL sticker that says something to the effect of "the operator and passengers in this vehicle are required to wear...

    Ginormous (Singles) Tire Balancing?

Okay, got the xml's on (pics later today) and they look great but ride awful. Truck shakes like a fly-girls booty. I've got access to as much free used antifreeze as I care to have. Anybody here actually ty ry it or am I gonna be the guinea pig?? my concern is how much to use. I've read where...

    Quad Cab updates--UPDATED 11-13-05

hmmmm, on third thought, how 'bout a ginourmous 6x6 command car? Super singles, stretch the cab all the way to the back, stand a spare tire up on the end of the frame rails. Ohhh, I better go lay down in a cool dark place...

    Quad Cab updates--UPDATED 11-13-05

Nawww, quite while your ahead. In fact, I'll be a pal and come over and pick up the scrap for you ;-) Now that I've finished (more or less) the BIG DOG bobjob, I'm thinking of the same type thing: 4x4, quad cab, m105 body. Or maybe 4x4, dual rears, shortened stock bed, or.....my wife is gonna...

    Deuce Tow Bar

I'll take a pair of the tow bar brackets if you can spare a set. I've access (read, can have one free) to three tow bars, but no way to attache them to the truck! Cheers!

Has Anyone put ten 1100 x20 tires on a deuce ??

You got it, bearings are the issue. I have a Dodge 50 7.5 tonne (that i just sold and is leaving tonight!) that was designed to run on duals but I've been running on singles turned out for a couple of years. No ill effects because I've NEVER loaded the truck to 1/4 of its rated capacity. I've...
