looking for a genset to run 3 phase 200 amps

i know the cutter will go through over 1.5", from what i have heard, I think the 200 amps is right at startup plus a safety margin, we looked at a 60kw but the guy wanted 5k for it.

I do some part time work for a guy and he is in need of a generator that can put out around 200 amps and 3 phase power to run a plasma cutter. what are my options, and what kind of price range are we looking at? I am in the Charlotte, NC area and am a prior service Marine Motor T mech, so I know...

You will need the ratchet strap, a couple spoons, some grease or soap water and a couple beers if you have em. you want to one end of the scrunched up runflat inside the tire, and using the spoons, some soap or grease, squeeze the other in there. its not easy with handtools, but can be done...

Lifting safety what are you using

tanker bars, impacts, 25 ton pnuematic jacks make changing tires on MTVRs a pinch. MRAPs are harder because they have a "spacer" ring that goes between the drum and the tire, puts a square edge there that the tire doesnt like to slide onto.

    Crazy about the new M-ATV

we have three of them at my shop now, they dont seem to be too bad, but the serpentine belt went out on one of them, we werent allowed to work on it and the civilian contractors came out and fixed it. pretty cool trucks, they drive good, and sound even better with the straight piped C7 in them...

it helps to pull the trailer around a mile or two to properly mix it up, least thats what they always do before doc tests the water.

Convoy of USMC MTVR's,HMMWV in Jersey 4-1-10

the hole in the tailgate is part of the ladder to climb into the back of the truck, the hole in the bed with the cover is used to store troop seats and bedsides while in a flatbed configuration.

    Gun Trucks of Iraq

im surprised noone had given a mention to the MTVR, MATV and Force Protection Familys. These vehicles are the best that money can buy IMHO. there isnt nothing quite as badass as the straight piped C7 or turbo whine of a C12

    Turn signal gremlin(s) on HMMWV

ive had a problem similar to this, it turned out that the new marker unit i put in got its ground from a different bolt on the back. i was chasing gremlins for a while until i figured that one out, made me feel a little bit remedial. just something to think about if you replace the whole unit...

Looking to buy a HMMWV, What do i look for?

Ive never noticed any frame rail rot on a HMMWV, and ive been under my fair share of them. i would hate to personally own one, its a lot easier getting parts by filling out a EROSL, i would hate to explain to the parts jockey at Autozone what a geared hub was. That being said, i would love to...

    Open Plane Intake

do the older duel plane intakes like the one pictured have the chevy firing order stamped on them? The intakes on all our 6.5s have the firin g order stamped, thought it was a little wierd.

Got hard top & Mk16 mount on M35a2

just for your information, on 7 tons the turret cover is a round steel piece that has tabs that swing around and hold it down to the roof. that seems like it might work pretty good to cover that hole up.

    HMMWV Frame Color

all the ones that i have worked on were either a gloss black or flat black. we have some trucks that are so bastardized its hard to tell what they are.

So you want to go faster?

i think its great that companys are still making products for these old trucks. i cant wait to get back to the states and get one of these to start wrenching on.

M332 Ammo Trailer - Before & After Pics

we always used the skid on the landing gear so that we could move the trailers around the motor pool easily. you can pull a 105 or 101 around by yourself if its empty.

Put your shades on for this one!

i wanna see some night pictures!!! it actually looks pretty cool, and like previosly posted, wreckers want thier rigs to be seen form orbit, which explains the massive amount of lights.
