My 1986 1009 will run on after the key is turned off. IP leaks a little diesel in valley and it has to be parked nose down or it will drain fuel back to tank and is hard to start.
Thanks guys, I will put it on the lift and dig in this weekend. If it is the ring gear I am taking it to my tranny guy to have a new flexplate put on. Will post the ultimate
resolution.

1986 CUCV M1009, modified with pushbutton for glow plugs. I was trying to start it and the starter stopped engaging the ring gear. It does spin up very nicely just no rotation to motor. Thoughts?

I just put 33x12.50x15s on one of my M1009s no clearance issues exept the pittman arm rubs slightly at extreme RH lock. I just keep that in mind. There is plenty of clearance even at medium articulation.
