    airpack rebuild, deep pits in the air can

    I tore down my airpack today to rebuild it. The air can, for lack of a better term, was full of water, brake fluid and rust. I got a honing tool to clean it up but the pits are pretty deep. Does anybody have a trick to refinish the inside of the can? I'm afraid if I hone the can long enough...

    Do the last two digits of the VIN indicate the year of the truck? Just bought me a "new" toy and now I have to get it titled. Tried the search but didn't find anything specific. The truck is out of town so I can't run out and scrape the 80 layers of paint of the frame to find a date...
