    hydraulic winch drive question

I'm looking for the length of the hydraulic drive unit for the 5 ton winch. I'm putting the winch on the bigford and prefer the hydro drive over the mechanical; just don't know if I have the room to spare up front. The length from the input shaft cover to the back of the drive would be great...

    800 t-case question

I bought another t-case (138) and was going through it to make sure all was well; checking the sprags, replacing the seals and gaskets etc. I started to remove the large cover (the front drive was already off) according to the TM and could not get the input shaft to slide out of the bearing. I...

    grease preference

Just curious as to what type of grease you use in your front axles. Doing a search, NLGI #2 lithium seems to be the most common. (Thanks to stumps for some good info in a 2010 post.) Also is there a source for the GAA? I was swapping some parts around on my axles and one of the donor ones had...

    Thanks to M35A2-AZ

Toploader and I worked out an axle swap but needed some help moving the parts. A very big thanks to M35A2-AZ for providing the lift with his outstanding 936. Toploader came in from Northern California and I came in from east Texas. M35A2-AZ worked around our schedule to make it happen. Again...

    brake question

I'm finishing up a project where I put some 5 ton axles and t-case under a non-mil truck, and I'm down to figuring out which master cylinder to use. I want to go with the 5 ton and air assist. My question is this: Do the 5 tons have an air dryer or filter on the air system? My doner truck didn't...

    front axle shafts

I went through a front axle recently and found the inner seal surface in bad shape. I put a sleeve on it (the shaft) but don't really like how it came out as the splines that slide into the gears slightly deformed the sleeve as it went over them. No leaks yet but I only drive it in my yard right...

    5 ton t-case air ports

Got a question on the air ports: Which one is for forward and which is reverse? The t-case and drive train are not under a mil truck. Asked for a set of manuals on the cd but they have not arrived yet and I would like to do some testing this weekend. Thanks in advance.

    brake parts

Does anyone have a source for the fittings/bolts that attach the brake lines to the wheel cylinder on a 5 ton front? Saturn has the flex lines but no fittings. Did find one place but kinda pricey. If I have to I have to but thought I'd check first. Thanks
