Fuel Cap replacment. Same as Civy??

My fuel cap is now a two piece deal after falling apart. Anyone know if it's the same as the civy model? This fuel filler neck looks larger than any civy one's I've seen

Need advice on fuel filter install

My M1008 has been converted to an electric lift pump. I ordered a Wix spin- on fuel filter/water separator unit to install between the fuel tank and lift pump. This means the filter will have fuel pulled through it instead of pressurized by the pump. I figured this would filter the fuel...

Glow plulgs cycle after engine is started?? Why

My glow plugs seem to cycle once or twice briefly during a cold start after the engine has already began running. Is this normal? What tells the glow plug controller that the engine is running and GP operation is no longer needed? thanks to the group.

    Fuel pressure switch question

Hello all, I have a M1008 that seems to take air after sitting overnight. I understand the fuel pressure switch can be a frequent culprit. Can someone explain to me what this switch does, and why it's ok to just remove it and plug that hole without replacing it? Thanks, Randy

    SS diesel glow plugs

I'm about to order a set of glow plugs from SS diesel. My M1008 is all stock with the resistor bank still in place. Could someone confirm that I should order the 12v glow plugs and NOT the 24Volt. I want to make sure I get the order right the first time. Thanks to the group!

    More glow plug questions

My M1008 has apparantly failed two glow plugs. These look pretty old and I'm not surprised some failed. I've read every glow plug article until I'm tired of reading. I want to do this the best way, and buy the right parts the first time so I'm asking questions from folks who have been down...

Anyone found an exhaust system they like?

Someone put a set of straight through glass pack type mufflers on my M1008 with turn downs if front of the rear axle. It's way too loud and almost deafening at speed. Did these come with a factory dual exhaust? If so, has anyone found a good, reasonably quiet setup at a good price? Maybe I'd...

Max tire size for stock M1008

Does anyone know what is the largest tire I can fit to a stock 1986 M1008? I need to replace the tires and would like to go larger to reduce highway rpm's and look a little nicer. Thanks to the group! Randy Tehachapi, CA
