    Just did the same thing to my deuce and had the same problem.I took the stop mechanism back out and put it back in and it fixed it, i dont know what it was but something wasn't in right the first time.

    i was thinking of a similar idea but instead i was going to use a airpak and master cylinder from a military generator trailer and mount it in the rear and hook it in to the service line for the glad hand and isolate the rear axle to it. any body ever tried this.

    i tried putting pressure on the belt but it just slips maybe i need a new belt. when i tried the drive line i used 1st. wouldn't it be harder in 5th or am i thinking backwards.

    thermocouple's should last hundreds of thousands of miles. check the connections if there good i would suspect a defective thermocouple or possible gauge.
