    M125-A1 Cargo Truck Cummins V8 300 Powered

Very impressive work. Are you in the truck auto industry for your primary job? Did you grow up doing this stuff? From where did the expertise derive that allows you to work your way through a frame-up restoration/rebuild? When/if you complete this thing ajd if you keep it close to true to the...

    M125-A1 Cargo Truck Cummins V8 300 Powered

Nice project. Great skill. Excellent find. As an aside, I think Dirt 71 must be getting paid to add superfluous apostrophes or he is torture testing his keyboard's apostrophe key. He's been going for years adding apostrophes to virtually every plural word he types...I don't get it, unless one...

    New tire option for M939 (M923A2) 1991?!

I must be missing something. The Goodyear tires I linked to which appear to be a good option are under $700/tire. This Goodyear AT2A is almost $2,500/tire. Or is this for a set of 4? https://www.otrusa.com/shop/otr-tires/14-00r20-18pr-j-goodyear-at-2a-e-g-l3-tl-new-production/ (FYI, the...

Michelin XZL vs Michelin XML vs Michelin XL vs Goodyear AT-3A vs Goodyear AT-2A any others that are 14.00 or larger that are any good?

Bumping this old thread...what about these (link below)? Anyone have any experience? Will these fit a standard M939 rim (specifically a M923A2 in my case)? They look like a great option...

    New tire option for M939 (M923A2) 1991?!

I was thinking the same thing. But if these work, then why the doomsaying about the supply of Michelin XZLs drying up and the exodus to larger tires from a different vehicle system? If these work, these seem to be a great option. I paid a little over $800/tire delivered for new old stock...

    New tire option for M939 (M923A2) 1991?!

So, Michelin XZL tires in NOS condition are drying up. Many worn/used tires floating around. Rather than upsize to the 16.00r20 or do the 395s, would these fit a standard M923A2 wheel without modification? The dimensions look right. Is this some ballooned out ag tire or will this work? Having...

    Painting cargo cover?

The seller I recently purchased it from represented that it is new. however , it has some storage dirt that probably needs to be scrubbed or pressure washed off. It has all the rubber tubing and nylon straps. PM me if you want. Where are you located? I'm in the Sacramento area.

    Painting cargo cover?

Using Rapco or similar spray paint, can the troop/cargo cover be effectively painted? I bought an extra cargo cover at a good price. But it is desert tan and not the standard camo pattern I have on my other cover. Can it be painted to match after proper prep/cleaning or will it fail quickly and...

M105A3 hub bearing nut and lock nut size

It was quite a chore dismounting and then mounting the tire/wheel/drum assembly mostly because I did it alone. Heavy stuff. Do you guys leave the wheel mounted to the hub when you do this? Or remove the lugs and take the wheel off first to make things more manageable? I left the wheel/tire...

M105A3 hub bearing nut and lock nut size

Thank for this. The tabs of the lock washer was what was preventing the socket from sleeving over the bolt. It was all covered in grease and I didn't notice it until you brought this up and I dug around in there. The 3 3/8 socket works perfectly. Thanks again fellas! Now to figure out the...

Thank you. That's what I bought. Frustrating. I'll get it figured out. Thanks guys!

M105A3 hub bearing nut and lock nut size

Well darn, it seems like 3 3/8 should fit given those dimensions...but it wont sleeve over. * sigh *

M105A3 hub bearing nut and lock nut size

I really appreciate the response. Are you sure this is for an M105A3, as opposed to an A2 or A1? The nut is close to 3.5 inches but seemingly under by a bit but not less than 5 3/8 given that socket won't go on there.

M105A3 hub bearing nut and lock nut size

3.5" is too big. 3 3/8" is too small. Before I order any more sockets that are wrong, does any one have the specs for the M105A3 hub nut and lock nut size? (They're the same) This is driving me "nuts "(yuck yuck yuck) ISSUE RESOLVED : 3 3/8" was the right socket. The locking washer tabs were...

    M923A2 Cummins belts

Ok. There's my answer! It has only one belt which is why only one is listed. I wrongly assumed it had several like the NHC250. Thank you!

    M923A2 Cummins belts

Right. And no engine/power steering/alternator/etc.. belts listed. Well, on one line in the A2 section it says "6 CTA 8.3 Belt" without saying what that belt is.

    M923A2 Cummins belts

So, this thread has a huge and great list of parts for 5 ton trucks.https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/5-ton-parts-quick-reference-spreadsheet.82404/ I just ordered a bunch of belts to have on hand for my M923A2 in case one breaks on the road so I'm not dead in the water. However, I realized...

Tire age and cracks - Still safe or replace?

What is it about the HEMTT rims that mitigate the tire rubbing issue on the front wheel without steering travel adjustments? Your truck looks great, BTW.
