Freightliner or other commercial chassis road tractor?

Gracias. M915 looked all wrong, add the A2 and yeap, that's the truck I was thinking of. Trying to figure out if I need a class B Except w/air brake endorsement, or a full-on Class A CDL to drive thing.

Freightliner or other commercial chassis road tractor?

mmm... maybe? What truck is that exactly?

Freightliner or other commercial chassis road tractor?

Way smaller than the 915. I cant remember if it was a Freightliner or not, just that it was essentially a commercial chassis in CARC, I believe they were mostly 5spd Allison autos, no front drive axle. Edit: Maybe I'm just an idiot and my Google-fu failed me

Freightliner or other commercial chassis road tractor?

I've seen quite a few of these in the past, smaller trucks than the M916, but cant for the life of me remember what the **** they were. Pretty sure this is one of them, but again I cant find diddly squat after searching for an hour now.

Not a lathe no, but I have plenty of access to grinders and torches

    M35a3 spindles and bearings change

What I have done thus far is removed everything save for the spindle and brake components. I'm guessing that blocking off the air line and swapping to A2 bearings and hub seals doesnt quite cover it.... guess I'll be pulling the spindle this week and removing this garbage.

    M35a3 spindles and bearings change

Definitive answer to Swapping M35A3 front bearings and seals to A2 goodies Well, Ive searched like crazy, and cant find anything that answers my question. I have torn down a grenaded A3 front bearing and ready to put parts back on, and need to know...What exactly do I need to modify on the...

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

well, looks like the buyer welched on the truck, gotta relist it for sale. Guess I should mention CTIS will now be disabled on the front axle =/

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

The main issue is right now the old bearing and race are stuck on the spindle, preventing me from getting the hub and drum off. Not much room to work with

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

Well, looks like im going to just convert the one side to A2 stuff, with the new seals, bearings and spindle. Is the hub going to be the same, or will I need to snag one off a parts truck?

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

Im gonna call a few of them tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Right now, CTIS is not working, there's a leak in the rear most axle somewhere, and my $400 for work I had done by CM Automotive on the controller was for naught, as the **** thing is going haywire again. He wants the...

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

I'm trying to source the spindles, but no luck so far =/ part number i need is 12448552

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

The A3 spindles are side-dependent because of the CTIS system. This is turning into possibly the worst case scenario here. Even if I get this drum off, there seems to be several small A3-specific parts that may not be worth replacing, vs swapping the entire front axle :-(

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

True. I was going to attempt to use a donor rear axle for the bearings and hub (since it looks like the races are hosed), but it looks like the spindle is trashed too. Might just end up having to replace the entire front axle at this point. Unless someone else

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

I forgot about that part actually (DOH). The drum has about 1/2" of play in and out, and can oscillate a bit, but appears to be held up by what's left of the outer wheel bearing. There seems to be play in everything except between the bearing and spindle. That said, I've had **** of a time...

Go hard or go home also applies to breaking stuff... Grenaded my front wheel bearings

Well, finally sold the A3 I had, and went to work on the brakes for the new owner, when I discovered it wasnt just brakes. Apparently the heat from dragging shoes destroyed the outer wheel bearing, and pretty much seized up (or welded) the body of the bearing to the spindle. Had to pull the...

Need a quick parts ref.... Front Axle seals for M35A3

I've looked and havent found anything in the short time I have here tonight... Looking for part numbers for the axle seals (lubrication, not CTIS). Looks like I have a leak and causing my front passenger side drum to lock up on me (bad juju!). Any help would be awesome!
