How easy is it to use the Hi/Lo control on the transfer case ?

If you search YouTube for "Hino 6x6" there are a couple videos I put up.

How easy is it to use the Hi/Lo control on the transfer case ?

Thanks for the ideas. So a push/pull cable would be up to to the task ? Does the vehicle have to be rocked or moving slightly to get it to shift into low ?

How easy is it to use the Hi/Lo control on the transfer case ?

I need to know what sort of pressure is required and how easy it is to shift into low and high range. I need to build a linkage to pull the rod at the transfer case in/out, but I need to know the force before beginning a design. Reason being, I have a cab-over tilt up cab, so the normal lever...

Get rid of that biodiesel, for new MV buys

B100 thickens when it gets around freezing level. B50 and B20 have less of an issue. I used to haul B100 back into Canada, 28 metric tons at a time up that ****ty I-5. Basically, even with a copper fuel system, b5 or b20 is perfectly safe unless you are in the arctic or something. Just plan on...

    Value?

There are diesel versions of the 404 as well. Very rare, but they exist.

What kind of joint does this rockwell have ?

I was under the impression it could be identified by that view. Is there a way to know without pulling the hub ?

What kind of joint does this rockwell have ?

Hello, Can someone tell me whether this is the prefered spicer u-joint on the front steering axle, or one of those other oddball older joints ? Secondly, the Canadian M35a2's all came with spicer joints I would assume, since they were built from the early 80's. Correct ?

All the stuff I did to my deuce, right here

Why methanol over ethanol? And why not a 50/50 mix with water such as in winter window washer fluid? I would assume this you could run a rather high mixture as ethanol or methanol only has about 1/2 the stored energy of gasoline. Top alcohol drag engines run diesel-like compression ratios with...

Max towing capacity of a M35?

Legalities aside, towing a large load has less to do with the braking capabilities of the tow vehicle, and more to do with weight distribution and the capabilities of the braking axles under the brunt of the load. The fact that the m35 is longer and heavier than the average dually pickup truck...

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

MudGuppy, Just an update. After a bunch of mockup work using metal tube from a swingset, me and Dad have decided to go with a leading link suspension. Probably going to do triangulated uppers, or possibly lowers. We'll be putting in a huge cross piece across the frame and using it as both a...

All the stuff I did to my deuce, right here

That doesn't make sense. That sickness would mean you have an "inflamation of the military vehicle".

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

thanks for the advice. I would like to do a leading link setup and thought about it, but the way the frame is designed, it tapers down at the front. The cross section is about 4" vertical. Since I will be hanging a large bumper off this area, I don't want to assign it to weight bearing...

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

Any pics of the buildup ?

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

It's heavily reinforced. That area of the frame is stronger than anywhere else.

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

I'll post an actual build thread once its back on the ground rolling on its own power.

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

Not actually very high. The photo angle is deceptive. All the weight other than the very light cab is Nat the top of the tires or below.

M35A2 pegging 30lb boost meter WOT

Yeah all of our 14, 15 and 16L motors in the kenworths and petes go to 40psi with the exception of the weird twin turbo cat. EGT's climb to around 1000 degrees. This is pulling Super B's up steep long hills. 140,000lbs plus. I think that the multifuel motor could be set up for that sort of boost...

M35A2 pegging 30lb boost meter WOT

Perhaps for this particular motor, but 30psi is nothing for most medium duty motors. 40psi is factory spec for my Hino 3.8L, and my DOHC Cummins makes 40psi for 45 minutes solid on a few hills I have to climb. There is a Twin Turbo Cat at work that makes just under 50 psi, factory trim.

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

That's my project. Its a Hino FB Turbo cab/drivetrain mated with m35a2 running gear. Kind of the best of both worlds. Modern civilian cabover with a military duty chassis. Its the length of a crew cab long box pickup but has 14' of rear deck without any overhang.

LoL could you post a more relevant thread ? That's exactly what I needed.
