thanks for the advice. I would like to do a leading link setup and thought about it, but the way the frame is designed, it tapers down at the front. The cross section is about 4" vertical. Since I will be hanging a large bumper off this area, I don't want to assign it to weight bearing...

It's heavily reinforced. That area of the frame is stronger than anywhere else.

Perhaps for this particular motor, but 30psi is nothing for most medium duty motors. 40psi is factory spec for my Hino 3.8L, and my DOHC Cummins makes 40psi for 45 minutes solid on a few hills I have to climb. There is a Twin Turbo Cat at work that makes just under 50 psi, factory trim.

That's my project. Its a Hino FB Turbo cab/drivetrain mated with m35a2 running gear. Kind of the best of both worlds. Modern civilian cabover with a military duty chassis. Its the length of a crew cab long box pickup but has 14' of rear deck without any overhang.
