Thanks! That is EXACTLY where the A3 VIN was stamped. I will post that VIN on the VIN info thread for additional info. When you and Carnac run those VINs does it also say if and when the truck was rebuilt after 1993? Thanks again!
Thanks for the reply. This is actually my father in laws truck. I also have an A3 and I titled it using the 5xxxxx number it was assigned when it was transformed into an A3. He would like to do the same both to be accurate and in case he wants to sell in in the future.
Is the new 5xxxxx...
In an effort to get my SF-97 I need to determine the VIN # for my A3. I have read the many threads on here on were to find the VIN and have located a VIN on the frame on the drivers side in the front wheel. It took removing the paint as suggested in previous posts so thanks for the advice...
Carnac-
My buddy purchased an M35A3 without winch and is having trouble verifying the VIN. After removing a couple layers of paint he found the following number stamped on the frame under the driver's side fender.
G (possibly a 0??) G52520124
NSN: 2320013833850
Fort Bliss, TX
Thanks so...
Looking for the year on my newly purchased M35A3 With Winch. Thanks in advance.

I have to agree with the benefits of switching...... I am two flushes into the conversion to NAPA Performance ATF fluid and the diff is significant. It shifts smother and drives much better. two more drains and a filter change are in my future.
For those who have switched to ATF for the tranny... What external filter did you use? Does the filter that it came from the army with, which is an oil filter also work with ATF fluid?
Thanks
Thanks for the insight. The 5 ton that pulled me out had now problem. He mentioned he preferred the 5 ton because of the weight and he felt it handled better in the sand. Sounds like they would both get the job done.
First let me say what an awesome forum and website you guys have here. I have been plowing through the postings and feel like I have recieved 2 years worth of education in 2 weeks.
So my question is..... Which truck handles better in the sand, a 2 1/2 or a 5 ton truck? I pulled my camper...
