    Door Panel Paint Source?

Painted my door panels and my dash the same color as the exterior/interior...looks great at least to me and if it gets marred up a bit, just brush some more on and not have to screw around with spraying anything. :)

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

+1 Very good explanation and advice. As always with painting, whether it be vehicles, houses, furniture..."PREPARATION" is the key. Most any of the top quality paints will look good and last well IF the proper prep work has been done.

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

Dave, just a thought, but do you remember back when you had it down to bare metal, how long it was before you primed it? Within hours, days, weeks? Although you can't see it, metal starts to rust in the open air almost immediately without primer. Of course, all the other conditions then come...

I like the look, both the lift and the tires. What lift kit did you use...easy/hard, etc.? We always need "details"...or at least it really helps me I know. Thanks

Historical find....WW1 Army 1917 machine Gun carts

There was a show on TV earlier this year about strictly military stuff as I recall. Everything from swords to cannons, but I can't remember what it was called right now. The main guy in it is the same "expert" that Rick Harrison on Pawn Stars calls in for advice. That whole thing may be suspect...

Historical find....WW1 Army 1917 machine Gun carts

I understand some of what you are saying about the preservation, however I think I would try to get some real professional opinions at least as to their historical value either as they are now or in the "restored" to their original "from the factory" condition. An example to me would what...

Historical find....WW1 Army 1917 machine Gun carts

Very nice find and recovery. Kinda seems like they would be the most valuable just as they are, still in the crate?!? Especially if you were planning on selling them at some point I would think.

    Rattle can paint advice

Ditto on all the advice so far. I rattle canned the primer before using my airless for the finish paint (Behr House Paint). On the primer it took 2-3 coats for a good uniform coverage and I would think that 3 coats minimum if you're doing "light" coats like you should be on the finish. I can't...

Post Your 4th of July Parade Pics

Drove the kids/grandkids in the Patriots Parade here this morning. Been a long time since I've participated in a parade instead of just watching. Had some great comments as we drove along...a lot of fun for all of us.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yeah, I would think you would need three of them on a M1008 bed. You'll be surprised though how solid they are once they are bolted down to the bed though. I added a few bolts and nuts on the bows which also added to the rigidity. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding extra bows out there...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yep, sure can. I simply "re-purposed" two bows from a M101 trailer. Had to cut square holes in the bed rail and bolted "L" brackets the bed and the bows...turned out to be very stable. For the camo netting, I used a piece of aluminum trim coil that I wrap house trim with...cut to 1", then bent...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got the stenciling all done on the M1009 yesterday. Now that she's painted and stenciled, I'm going to start enjoying driving her, while I put everything back together inside. I have like new M1009 front seats (back is staying out), new seat belts, new door and window rubber to install. I...

    Post your cucv pics here

Pete, thanks, it's Behr, Olive Drab with a titch of tan added. I'll get it out in the light sometime this week and get some better pictures, hopefully with the rest of the stencils on it too. I don't have time right now, but I'll add a picture of the Behr color code off of a can later.
