    Power Steering Possibility?

I need the power steering box which can operate the twin steering from two 2-1/2 steering axles. I assume that Ross HF54 box is the one from M800 series 5 ton trucks, used with the ram on the passenger side? Is it possible to use the box without the ram, and still have the true power steering...

    Heads up on dealing with...

OK, I am the one you talk about here, so I want to clarify a few things. I had several identical units of air steering assist from M35A3 trucks. I took one, and put some used oil on using a brush to make it look a bit nicer, took the pics, and then put it on ebay. The assists have been slowly...

    M35A3 trnsmission AT1545p shifting unevenly

Hi Guys, I have this trany for sale. When it was in the truck, the third gear barely kicked in, and the tranny went immediately to the 4th gear. It didn't skip the 3rd, but the 3rd gear never reached the higher RPM. There was no slipping or any other problem. I heard it is normal, because the...

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

Explicit1, here are some speculations in this thread that the tandem would push the vehicle staight too much, and it would affect the ability to steer it. Have you noticed something like this? Does it steer like original deuce, or is there any difference? Thanks., Peter

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

Explicit1, how does the bobbing affect the turning on the hard and soft surfaces? Thanks, Peter

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

It looks like the m275's tandem is about 1 fl closer to the front axle, then m35. I might go perhaps a foot further. Then eliminate the rear bumperettes and put there the bumper. It would make the rig 3 ft shorter like other bobbers are.

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

I think it looks good, and it is very practical.

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

I was thinking about removing some leaf springs to make it smoother.

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

I will put them in the bed behind the cab. I want to have it for daily use, and the off road use. The extra axle would spread the weight over larger area, so it would not sink that easily. I would like to remove some leaf springs from the back, to make suspension softer. Don't care about...

    Bobbing m35a3 keeping 6x6

I want to shorten my M35A3, but I would like to keep it 6x6. If I move the rear tandem forward about 3 ft, can it cause any negative impact on vehicle's performance, like stability, or turning? Any thoughts? Thanks, Peter

    ATF in M35A3 CAT 3116

Have you tried anything else than used motor oil?

    ATF in M35A3 CAT 3116

And you are talking about the M35A3's CAT3116 engine, right?

    ATF in M35A3 CAT 3116

Does anyone use anything else then straight diesel in this engine? Do you burn any mixture? Thanks

Even if that second axle has the stock m35a3 assist?

    8x8 Deuce

Thanks for suggestions. Forgot to mention I will have two M35A3 steering axles with steering assists available. Would that change your opinion? A huge pipe dream? Go to post #1 in this thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/83026-8x8-deuce-off-road-tours-8.htmlThat was a huge...

    8x8 Deuce

8x8 deuce Hi guys, I need some education here. If I add the second M35A3 steering axle with air assist and the steering system pictured below to M35A3, will I be able to use the original steering box and pump, or will I have to upgrade it, perhaps from 5 ton truck? (I will have extra steering...

    8x8 Deuce

I will start with 2 M35A3s, use the second tandem for front suspension, and probably copy the steering from XM757. It will not cost that much. I am serious with this project, there is simply too much money and fun in this kind of business. If I find a partner with cash, I would like to start...

    8x8 Deuce

The weight is the reason, those trucks would sink. I had 4x4, they sunk too, they were fully loaded. I try to spread the weight over a larger surface.
