    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

I bought the 50 sq ft roll . It seemed to be just enough . I made sure to measure and cut every piece and use scrap pieces where ever I could ! The 100 sq ft roll would be over-kill and a lot of left-over material .

    Step 2 The FInish

Seem like it took a while ,but she' all done. Couple of pics to top it off. I took a pic of the master cylinder access so you could see how easy it is to get to the master cylinder ! On a sadder note , I was driving down the road with the windows open and there is a loud whoosh . Seems as if one...

Step 2 Insulating almost done !

Mark, my driver window is bad , to the point there are gaps around the window and door frame . My passenger window is tight ,no seepimg around that one. I guess something that's 40 years old needs a little TLC and some new parts .

Step 2 Insulating almost done !

There is definitely a reduction in cab heat . Noticeable even more when I fix the driver door window . The windshield and passenger door window molding is all in good condition. Only problem is the driver door window ( needs a new regulator ) Let you know how things go !

Step 2 Insulating almost done !

Overall the engine & tranny noise is definitely more subdued . Since I don't have db meter I can't give you exact numbers but there is quite a difference ! And the combo of the Zillamat and the rubber floormat I'm not cooking the bottom of my feet anymore !

Step 2 Insulating almost done !

THe rubber on the floor is just a stall mat. I got that at a local feed store. It came as a 4' x 6' size . It's 1/2" thick and really sturdy. I think it cost around $60 . Dont know if you saw previous post the insulating mat is made by " Zilla Mat " . Google it to get to their website !

Step 2 Insulating almost done !

I had to patch around the m/c access and cover that as well . it was easy enough to do .The access opens up and there is the master cylinder ! :driver: I bought Zilla's 50 sq ft roll of 80 mil product. I would have to say I still have around 5 sq ft left on the roll. That's just a guess , I'm...

Step 2 Insulating almost done !

Coming down the home stretch. Just some small things to do to top off the cab insulation. This product "Zilla Mat" is so sweet to work with ! And you can even paint it ! What do you think. Gotta work on the over spray a bit. But it's where you're not going to see it. The Zilla mat made such a...

    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

Thanks Yellobronc, for your input . Mark , I need to get into the doors to skin the insides . The driver door is a little problem in that the window when rolled up doesn't align properly . Gonna get a new regulator and window channels to see if that works. I've got the hard top so there are some...

    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

Mark , I've taken a good look at the belt routing . All I can say is the water temp stays consistent (on the road) and the generator shows charging !..Bob

    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

Mark , the unit I got from Boyce , really pumps out some cold air. The problem with that is the cab of the deuce isn't insulated and has numerous points where engine heat(hot air) enters the cab . During this project I'm sealing up every little hole where that hot air can enter . You noticed the...

    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

Yup , that is a/c hanging under the dash . That was the priority in insulating the cab , keep all that engine heat outside instead of inside ! Had to think about how to get to things if necessary , you can't see it in the pics but the trans tunnel and master cylinder access are seamed to open up...

    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

The liner is called Zilla Mat , I used their 80mil thick product . The floor mat is just a stall mat that is 1/2" thick . Very sturdy and durable . Should last quite awhile .

    Step 2 Insulating the Cab

It took awhile to get the time to start this little project , but I did get half the cab insulated and added some rubber floormat to it. I guess I'm a little more thorough and wanted to get it right . Here's some pics so far. I will be able to finish the project next week. since it's well into...
