We do have one close by.
I had a father & son fabricator team come by and look at the truck. We have the hook lift secured to the rear of the HEMTT right now as we try to figure this out.
He thinks moving the transfer case down will mess up the driveshaft angles. He says there is almost no...
The lower driveshaft going from the transfer case to the first steering axle is only about 23”, and we would need to move the case right around that distance to clear the mount.
Lowering was our first idea but the driveshaft angles and distance required for clearance made us second guess that...
Hey Guys,
Just took possession of my HEMTT after having extensive work done including a newly rebuilt (surplus) Allison 740D transmission installed in the truck. Because it was rebuilt we decided to put TES295 transmission fluid in the transmission.
Shifts great but it looks like I've lost a...
The mechanic who has my truck is having trouble finding a wiring schematic for the lockup solenoid on the Allison 740D.
I had a new transmission installed but in a short test drive he didn't think the solenoid was locking the torque converter. Unsure if the solenoid works, but he thinks it...
We had this on the back burner for a bit and now it should be finished very soon. Haven't driven it yet, but can't wait. Will probably go up for sale before winter as I don't have a place to store it.
Here are some pics of the new rubber all around. New transmission was installed. New brakes...
Went to check it out Sunday. It was a lot of fun seeing on of these trucks up close. The oil system on the side will be coming off when I put a new tranny in, if anyone is interested in buying it.
Matt will be going through the truck in the next few days to do a full assessment on what needs...
A small update...
Haven't seen the truck in person yet, but it is in good hands. Been too busy and the weather hasn't helped.
It was driven off the trailer, and then a few miles to another location. Matt @ A&H Recon said the transmission was slipping, a few tires need to be replaced, brakes...
Truck was delivered earlier today. Looks like it needs brakes, tires, and probably a few small things.
But the transmission is slipping, which isn't good. Hopefully just a fluid/filter change.
Auction company said it started and moved. JR Martin transport is picking it up and bringing it up mid week. I'll take some photos once it has arrived.
I certainly didn't buy it to flip it, I bought to it to drive it. But I know they are out there and I can always find another if I sell it. I like to race motorcycles, and that gets expensive. So having some extra cash for that never hurts.
