Radiator Support Bushing, OEM Part #6264100

I just took my old ones to the dealer parts counter and asked the guy to look them up, he said they are no longer available. Just when I was about to give up, I happened across the Prothane ones, they worked great.

Radiator Support Bushing, OEM Part #6264100

I don't know what the OEM numbers are, and you're welcome for the tip.

Radiator Support Bushing, OEM Part #6264100

if anybody is looking for new radiator isolators, I got a set by Prothane from Summit Racing, part# 7-1712, they work great. Originals are no longer available apparently.

    M1008 and H2 wheels

How many people are running the h2 wheels? I'm looking at running them with 37s.

    Aux battery question

The camper battery will be only for some interior lighting, maybe some exterior LED flood lighting, my ARB fridge, and a 10 inch vent fan. I think the 12v side will be up tp the task of recharging a pair of deep cycles. The biggest reason I want to keep the 24v in place is because I already...

    Aux battery question

Thanks for the advice. I'm really throwing around the idea of converting to all 12v, keeping both alternators and both batteries. Don't really want to though

    Aux battery question

I have thought aboutconverting to all 12v, but i am mostly interested in if I could just tie into the 12v side of the original charging system and have it charge my camper battery without upsetting anything too badly. I have wired up isolator kits for dual battery systems in the past, it's not...

    Aux battery question

Are there any down sides to charging an extra battery off the 12v side of the charging system? I will be hauling a slide in camper and want to run a cable to charge the camper batteries. Will it unbalance the system?

    Coldest starting temp.

Gotta laugh every time somebody mentions wind chill, it has no bearing on the actual temperature of cold machinery. If your truck has been sitting out all night in 15 degree temp, it will still be 15 degrees no matter how impressive your wind chill numbers might be. BTW, 15 is the coldest I've...

What front lift springs are you running?

I have 6 inch Rough Country fronts. They were on there when I got the truck, and they ride terrible. Im sure the Pro Comp shocks up front aren't helping anything either though.

    M1028 Crossover steering

Yes, the drag link on my truck looks straight int the pics. I had to turn it to a goofy angle to minimize the rubbing just to get out of the garage for the time being. I assure you it has the dog leg bent into it. Now that I have been able to massage the exhaust into place, there is no more...

    M1028 Crossover steering

some pressure on the pipe, and then some light torch work was enough to get me what I need for the time being. I'll snap some pics and post them up later. I can also post up pics of the rest of the turbo setup, I remember there were some requests in earlier posts.

    M1028 Crossover steering

Where are you guys talking about notching the frame? The banks kit was installed by the book and there was no need to notch anything. The exhaust after the turbo is tight between the frame and engine but no frame mods needed. Maybe some slight notching of the crossmember and "softening" of...

    M1028 Crossover steering

My drag link rod is bent as it should be. I actually have it turned a funny way in the pic that makes it looks straight. I did that for now because it makes it possible to steer and the link just grazes the exhaust. When it is installed in the intended manner, it actually interferes more and...

    M1028 Crossover steering

here are some pics of the problem. The Banks exhaust for the LHS runs around the front of the motor, and of course, interferes with the crossover steering. The pics are a little deceiving, there isn't as much room between the frame and pipe as it looks like in the pics.

    M1028 Crossover steering

I am just about done with the cross over conversion from ORD on my 1028 with Banks Turbo setup, and have discovered that the drag link hits the exhaust. Has anybody else ran up against this problem? ORD doesn't offer much advice at all, and selections of pitman arms seem to be pretty thin.

Gen 2 no charge when hot

A friend of mine had a Toyota Celica GT Turbo All-Trac that had a ducted alternator. The under hood temps on that car were insane, but never had alternator problems. Things are not exactly packed tightly under the hood of the 1028, I think the heat shield will provide protection from the...

Gen 2 no charge when hot

Just an update, both alternators back from the rebuilder, everything is working well so far.

Gen 2 no charge when hot

both alts dropped off to get done. This guy does all of the starters and alternators for the reserve unit up the street so he is familiar with military stuff, and he has been doing my stuff for me for years. Can't wait to get this thing up and running as it should be!

Gen 2 no charge when hot

Charge light started flickering again at idle on the way into work this morning. The heat shield I think helped a little bit because it took longer for it to start acting up. I swapped it with a reman unit that came with the truck, only now the reman unit charges 15V at idle, and now I get a...
