    Anybody got M880 restoration tips?

My truck already had a pretty big suspension lift on it. Looks like the sway bars are disconnected on the ends. Does that lift kit need to come out? Don't want to wear out any parts like universal joints and this looks like a half hearted job.

    Anybody got M880 restoration tips?

Yes I would be pulling the front clip apart anyway. I was just curious to see if its easier overall during teardown to pull cab and front clip all in one piece or break it down as I go.

    Anybody got M880 restoration tips?

I'm about to get some plans together to restore my old M880. I intend to take it down to the rolling frame so I can sandblast all the parts, repaint, and put back together. I was wondering if somebody might could make a permanent thread on the forum with tips and tricks that somebody restoring...

    M880 series parts.

M880 series parts I was also going to mention that the folks on this site are great about helping you in any way that they can. A lot of good info here, including technical manuals that are available for the M880 series truck. There are a few websites out there related specifically to...

    M880 series parts.

M880 series parts Hey, The civilian version of the truck is a W-200. Just a heads up...parts for Chrysler vehicles can be a little trickier to track down than Ford and GM stuff. Its out there, but you gotta dig a little harder. That's been the case with my M880. I've been able to find...

M880 alternative to Carter BBD carb??

As far as originality, I wouldn't be a bit concerned (personally) by installing a non-original carb and intake. I'm gonna make the interior and exterior original, but I'm not too worried about under-hood stuff. My bottom line on the truck right now is 2-fold: 1. cost 2. reliability I hate...

M880 alternative to Carter BBD carb??

Just an update on the carburetor. Even after a rebuild of the Carter BBD, it still leaks gas in several places. Apparently, it has underlying issues that make it not worth investing more money. When I called the local NAPA, a replacement stock carb is around $340. For that kind of money...

M880 alternative to Carter BBD carb??

Thanks for the response. I have been asking around here and that's what everybody else suggested too. I will adjust the floats and see if that fixes the problem. I'm excited about getting the truck fixed up.

M880 alternative to Carter BBD carb??

Hello all, I've been working on an M880, and just got the carter bbd back from being rebuilt. Although the truck now idles and runs fine, I have noticed fuel seeping from around the throttle shaft area, so i'm thinking its got wear there. Also, the dust cover on top of the carb that...

    M880 carb issue

Well I went out and found the tag on the carb. Has an 8121S on it, so I call up a friend of mine and I'm looking at around $90 total parts and all for a complete strip down, cleaning, and rebuild of the carb. Sure wish I could find a cheap 4-barrel intake and carb, tho.

    M880 carb issue

I got to looking around and it seems the Carter BBD is generally frowned upon. Which Holley 2-barrel would be a direct swap?

    M880 carb issue

In working to fix some gremlins on my newly acquired M880, I replaced the fuel pump to solve a no-fuel issue. Now I have confirmed that with the new pump, fuel IS making it as far as the carburetor. However, I have to pour gas into the carburetor from a cup to keep it running. I guess the...

Need help (and possibly a pic) of M880 fuel lines

I have been working on the 77 M880 I got and so far, I've installed a new ignition lock cylinder, start relay, and new neutral safety switch. Now that I've got the ignition system in the right direction, my other major issue is the fuel system. I've traced down a major problem to a faulty fuel...

    Newbie M880 questions

I recently purchased an M880. It's my first military vehicle, and I have enjoyed cleaning on it and fixing odds and ends stuff. Got a couple of quick questions. First, this truck was used in a mud bog at some point in its life, and it has mudgrip tires. However, it appears that they are 16"...
