Power bleeding a Dual circuit truck

Mounting a dual circuit master cylinder on a standard Deuce is likely not a realistic plan. The mount is completely different, the clutch pedal would have to be re positioned. Then you have the brake lines, the 2nd air pack mount and air lines, (could be fabricated). The secondary air tank is...

    In cab communication

Looks like they will, it works with standard aircraft plugs (Helicopter plugs are a different size)

    In cab communication

I have had good luck with this, sort of wish I bought the SPO-22N as the Deuce is kind of loud. I glued some strong magnets to the case and just stick it to the dash I had good luck with these guys http://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotStore/secp/59...

    Master Cylinder Copper Washer leak

We learned early on ALWAYS REPLACE THE CRUSH WASHERS, we have a couple of Air Force Deuces, which have more than their fair share of these things. Fortunately the 1/2" crush washers are available from Pep Boys or NAPA as replacement oil plug washers. My brother's truck has a very slow, but...

M35A2 low power, white smoke & rough idle

Let us know what you find. If the head gasket is blown like that picture I posted, you would not see the "milkshake" in the oil, Thinking about it...... a bad intake valve might exhibit similar symptoms, although I think it might be less likely. Those engines are pretty tough, in their own...

M35A2 low power, white smoke & rough idle

Water entering combustion will create white smoke. Faulty head gaskets and cracked cylinder heads or blocks are a common cause 9 times out of 10 it is the head gasket (I would say 100% but I wanted to leave myself some wiggle room) it is leaking coolant into the cylinder on the intake stroke...

    Boarding Ladders

My brother and I have been looking for some ladders that are better than a green painted Werner from H-D. Bryce in Port St. Lucie had a fair number of these a few weeks ago at a good price. They fit really solidly to the tailgate of a Deuce. The hand rail is designed to fit over the legs that...

How to store a used Deuce engine ?

That is what my brother said. I suspect shipping might be $$. Does anybody know of any in South Florida ?

How to store a used Deuce engine ?

My brother and I currently have a couple of late Air force trucks that are running well and, of course are well lubricated inside and out. Earlier this month we found a SS member in Ft. Pierce, FL that had a Deuce that lacked a few parts (axles, wheels.... minor stuff) It did have a recently...

    LED lights on Trailer

I couldn't figure exactly where to post this question, please move it if necessary. I picked up an M1101 HMMWV trailer in pretty nice shape, none of that pesky corrosion that we all know and love, what being aluminum and all. The LED lights light up like a Christmas tree behind the Deuce, which...

Front Brake problem any help would be welcome

What kind of Deuce is it ? If you have a split system it is most likely one of the airpacks. If it is a single circuit it could also be the airpack with possibly out of adjustment rear brakes. Were the brakes working well prior to your problem? You could try lubricating the airpack might help...

    Turbo Question

Why would you be going 55 MPH in 60 year old truck ? That being said I have a "D" turbo and the only time I hear it is between gears or under a heavy load.

Brake fluid in my air line

Congratulations ! I assume that those are Air Force contract Deuces, should have a blue warranty on the right side of the dash. Your problem is one of the air packs, it is a bit of a crap shoot as to which one it is and it is likely that if one failed, the other might not be far behind :cry...

Should I clean the fuel tank? If so what's the best method?

I had serious varnish coral reefs in my tank that were making it to the primary FF and, I assume had caused the hydraulic head to fail (prior to me buying the truck) I drained and removed the tank and all the fittings and used a pressure washer and Zep Orange cleaner, then dried it out with...

Brake Fluid coming out of Vent in engine bay...

I feel your pain..... I had the same issue, rebuilt the 2 airpacks (AF Truck), did not fully fix the problem, even though I was pretty anal about the rebuild, Ended up buying NOS old style packs, sucked it up and did not look back, Hope they last another 20 years ! Another hint: be sure to...

Deuce to a 8' Pickup Truck

I am not convinced that a Deuce is good as a daily driver, That being said it will fit in a regular parking place with some planning and you can parallel park it. There is something about a vehicle where operator comfort is the last consideration. By the way, bobbing a Deuce is illegal in 32...

How do you paint your Deuce?

It seems to be holding up well, got quite hard in a week or 10 days, the gloss faded after a couple of months and it is pretty flat, if you look closely at the photo, the truck on the left has a fresh (day before) coat and is a bit more "satiny". I would not recommend that you paint your MV with...
