Again, when they installed that pump, grounding became an issue. Trying grounding the pump, and try again.

Check to make sure you have a good ground. I ran an extra ground from my pump to the grounding lug. Jump the pump off the battery it should rattle. I would check the ground first.

I have the same unit. You should hear the pump running in run. It starts out loud, then quiets down as pressure builds. The pump may be full of varnish, a good cleaning should help. If it is still dead after that, you can remove the suppression capacitor that is wired in line with the pump...

I just picked up another 701a, this one has a battery reading about 7 volts. Do you think it is too far gone? I have a friend who says he can de-sulfate it with his arc welder. These batteries seem hard to come by. Any thoughts?

Nice unit. Speaking of safety, you should try and track down a out-put lug cover. That's a disaster waiting to happen. I just use compressed air to blow the box clean. I also place a shop vac on one side so the blown dust just get sucked up. Good luck.
