    Rebuilding FAV #91

I took it to several Steel Soldier events here in Central Florida. I drove my first one every where. It caused several 911 panic calls from people who saw the M2 50 cal (inside a cover) and I got pulled over by the police. They looked it over and called other units to come look at it and...

    Rebuilding FAV #91

Engine/trans finished except for the muffler. Stock EMPI wont fit. Trying a different smaller muffler if it ever gets here. Started working on the top weapon mount. I made the first cuts to the 2x2 and 2x4 tubing. It turned out great. I also made a new cover for the center dash pod. The PO cut...

XM1041 TOW FAV REAR STOWAGE SHELF

It looks like the aluminum blocks are supporting a bar that goes across the back. Maybe the dual cleaners would not fit because of this bar. A single would have to do I guess. With the 3rd crew member sitting/kneeling where the twin AC filters would have to be caused some issues so they resorted...

    General Questions

A question back to the weapon mount. Is the plate that is welded to the front tube 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch thick?

    Rebuilding FAV #91

I got to spend a couple hours on the FAV yesterday. Installed plug wires and set the timing. Mounted coil and installed the airbox/filter assembly. It looks pretty good. All 10 shocks are installed now. Might start on the electrical or weapon mount next week. Not sure. It is getting there 1...

Rear shocks done. New Bilstein was a perfect fit. The new 8 inch rim came in but it will be a while before I can get it swapped out for the 10 inch.

    Rebuilding FAV #91

I bought a set of 4 front shocks and will get them installed after new bolts come it. I have just about finished the engine. Fuel lines and oil cooler/filter are done. Alternator and HPMX card completed. I sanded down the carb airbox and found a number on it. 657. I still have to install plug...

    Rebuilding FAV #91

Yes. Rear shocks. Bilstein #33-230344 . It came with 1/2 inch sleeves so I had to install 12mm sleeves but they were a very good price. I need to replace all 4 front shocks but cant find the part number and no one has answered my message here. Do you know what the fronts are?

    General Questions

This was my first FAV and it was pretty much the way it was built during the 85 rebuild. It looks like a 10 inch wheel on the back. What do you think?

    General Questions

Yes... When the manual was created it was 8 inch but the manual was for the pre-1985 rebuild where they added the side baskets, radio basket, fenders and other items. when I look at photos of the post 85 rebuild I think the rear wheels are 10 inch but dont know for sure. Just wondering what...

    FAV Photos

A TOW assembly would be a great addition to a FAV. I think it might be hard to find all the individual parts to go with it though. I'm guessing they dont just de-mil it and sell it. I would think they would destroy it. It would be cool though!
