Yes, understood. I have the panel the relay is mounted on removed and sitting on the floor. Those terminals are covered in liquid electrical tape, and are most certainly not touching anything. I'm fairly sure that isn't the issue. It may be the wiring too those terminals, but I'm not seeing...

Yet another CUCV not starting thread

Checked the relay, don't see any issues there. Checked out Gen 2 with my multimeter. The isolated ground appears to still be good. I'm thinking now that it is the starter. Had issues with this starter before so I went ahead and ordered a replacement.

Thank you. Slowly went back and checked the fusible links off the buss bar. Found a failed wire by pinching them. Replaced the fusible link with the same spec one(had to go to two auto parts places to find the right one.) Replacing the fusible link caused the instrumentation to work, and...

I have a 86 M1008 which is my daily driver. About once a quarter it surprises me with a new problem. Last quarter was a leaking heater core, today it wouldn't start. Or, more accurately it started right up, ran for 1 second, stopped, and wouldn't start again. Smoke was observed leaving the...

Are they any sort of adapters to make the radio power plugs useful?

Ah, thanks for the clarification about the port in the cab. I'll get some pictures of the other cord. Its the main power cord that goes to the amphenol splitter.

Are they any sort of adapters to make the radio power plugs useful?

I have a M1008. So it has this plug under the dash that I believe would have gone to a radio. It also had a cord in the bed that would have gone to the amphenol. Is there, or has anyone tried making an adapter to make those useful for anything else? I've been thinking of adding a cig...

New to me M1008, lock out hub issue.

Thanks for the suggestions. Upon getting the wheel off and the locking hub off it turns out the bearings are all rusty in horrible condition.

    Fuel gauge questions.

I recently bought a M1008. The fuel gauge on it is OFP. Before I drove the truck home, the gauge was on Full. I put in 10 gallons and the gauge jumped to way past the F mark.

New to me M1008, lock out hub issue.

Hello, I picked up a used M1008, I plan to make it my new daily driver. After using it a couple of days, one day I was stuck in stop and go traffic and I started hearing screeching noises from the vehicle. I think the issue is from the front right locking hub. The section I am holding on...
