    Transport HMMWV

I towed a M998 600 miles one way with a U-Haul Auto Transporter and a 2003 3/4 ton Hemi. Your truck shouldn't have an issue.

    ACTUAL HMMWV width?

Sweet. I see your tow vehicle is a Dodge. Congratulations on pick up.

    ACTUAL HMMWV width?

I would like to know where I can get those inexpensive tires.

    ACTUAL HMMWV width?

If you look at the photo of the deck, or been to United Rental, you'll see their tandem trailer deck widths consistent from ramps to end.

    ACTUAL HMMWV width?

I grabbed the information from United Rental website. https://www.unitedrentals.com/en/equipment/trucks-trailers/trailers/trailer-equipment-14-16-tandem-axle

    ACTUAL HMMWV width?

You can definitely fit the HMMWV on a UHAUL. I just drove up over the fenders. They're pretty stout. The vehicle on my rental contract was a 1977 Jeep J-20. Otherwise you can try and get a 14-16' United Rental Tandem Axle Trailer. They can be up to 90" wide in between fenders.

Finally scooped up my 87 M998

The endless hills and downhills in PA were squirrelly especially the banking, curved ones. I should have done better route recon, but I was trying to avoid New Jersey and New York City on my way down. Interstate 80 was not fun going back. Also on my way down I stopped at a friend's house just...

Finally scooped up my 87 M998

If I were to do it again I would have gone with a deckover or a wide enough equipment trailer. The Ram 2500 pulled it enough just fine, but a nice weight distribution set up would have made the ride back a lot better. It was 1200 miles round trip. Here's a photo of the old girl that I used...

Finally scooped up my 87 M998

No they did not charge me for storage. They have M-T pick up times only and I was supposed to retrieve it NLT 21 Oct. I emailed the GP representative and told him I'd be able to pick it up on the 25th at the earliest.

Finally scooped up my 87 M998

Picked her up midday from Whitehall, Ohio on Tuesday. Got home this morning. Threw a new set of batteries in and drove it off the trailer.

    Anyone deal with Whitehall, Ohio?

Is it like a DOD facility? Like going on and off a military base?

    Trailer it ... what trailer?

Its an M998. Needs batteries to run and its about 500 miles away for me.

    Trailer it ... what trailer?

    Anyone deal with Whitehall, Ohio?

Just wondering what to expect. Picking up an M998 asap and was hoping to hear good or bad stories related to it...

    What's your EUC wait time

My EUC cleared at noon today. Of course I have a drill weekend this weekend to complicate planning of recovering this beast....
  17. NCBPhantom

    Trailer it ... what trailer?

6.28.16 it s my first one still waiting on my euc to clear. Hoping to grab it before Thanksgiving so I can avoid a freezing cold recovery.

    Trailer it ... what trailer?

I'll be traveling west from Connecticut to Ohio and back. Just trying to do it the most economical and safe way possible. I've done over the road hauling in the military so it won't be my first rodeo.
  19. NCBPhantom

    Trailer it ... what trailer?

Would it be easier to use a U-Haul trailer or a larger open deck type trailer? Would be towing with a 1-ton GMC dually.

    What's your EUC wait time

    I seriously envy you
