Thanks! I think consensus on the powerwagon forum is that it’s an arctic cab added by the military in the Korean-war era.

    WC62 project

I’ll keep my eyes open for another. I heard from someone on the powerwagon page that might have a cab kit for sale in the future. Sounds like they are relatively easy to remove for summer and install when it gets cold.

As I understand it, the cab was a military add-on, Korean War era.

Thanks! Good to know. I’m sure I’ll need parts and pieces.

    1943 BX-2435 2.5kw genset

Thanks. I agree - only brief test runs so far. It needs a cleanup inside and out before I troubleshoot the electrical side. Fuel tank is crusty and the bracket for the control panel is cracked so I’ll be into it anyway.

Got this from a local farm equipment auction, the manual was inside the cabinet. Cleaned the carb and it crank starts now. No power … yet.

    WC62 project

Bunch of parts sitting on a frame, it’s almost a complete truck. I have big plans - just started looking for a bed. It has been outside for years with no air cleaner, but the spark plugs came out OK. Poured in some mystery oil to soak until I’m ready to open the engine up, hope it’s rebuildable.

Hi - great site of course, I’ve been lurking for a while but I don’t think I’ve introduced myself. I’m starting on a WC62 6x6 project. Pretty excited about it.

MEP 005a stays on, and the breaker light stays on

I understand. It’s good to have access to your expertise here. Following up - the problem went away before I tested further. Which is great but could be temporary to an unknown degree, etc. For now, I’m blaming moisture and I’ll build a generator shed. Since we first had the problem after a...

MEP 005a stays on, and the breaker light stays on

Thanks again! I appreciate the cautions in your write-up. I’m the furthest thing from a professional, but making the tester will be worthwhile. I will print out the TMs and try to get my head around the controls and relays before doing more tests.

MEP 005a stays on, and the breaker light stays on

No joy yet. Thanks again for the information, I’m looking closer at the schematic. Status, fwiw: The S2 switch tested correctly in all the test steps. K1 relay is within spec (300 ohms, +/- 30) across the coil (X1 to X2), and there is continuity only between B2 and B3, and A2 and A3. Moving on...

MEP 005a stays on, and the breaker light stays on

Thanks for the information - greatly appreciated. Sidetracked for a bit, nothing to report back yet.

MEP 005a stays on, and the breaker light stays on

The run switch is in the off position but the fuel pump is still getting power. Also, the load breaker switch light is illuminated. Mep 005a has been in regular use, normal power-down/shut-off yesterday. I always open the breaker and verify the light goes out before I stop the engine. Exercised...
