Working on a model year 2000 A1.
this is the pre-battery disconnect era.
The army threw a bunch of parts at it, including a new ECM, new circuit board, new TCM, new oilpressure sensor.
Truck cranks with button, trans controller illuminates as normal.
I converted to two batteries.
changed...
that was my thought also, however, I swapped in a brand, new controller and change nothing.
I also plugged that controller into a functioning truck and it works fine.
My edited post must not have shown up for you. When I first posted, it would not allow me to type, once I put the picture in. I had to go back and edit. Sorry.
It’s a 2000, yes, Tech three.
Had unplugged the TCM and checked for corrosion on the contacts before plugging it back in. No change.
2000 M1079. Truck starts and runs great.
However, as soon as master switch is turned on, Trans controller displays “X”, and the mode light is illuminated. Diagnostic mode is inaccessible.
The controller is a known working unit.
It’s strange to not be able to access diagnostic mode, I am going...
the pn wll also tell you if its the same, circumventing the need to spend hrs in a tm to learn what could be assessed by looking at the part in question.
in his case, the A7 he needed was the part he was replacing. Who cares what the 400hz option is, since its a different pn and therefore a...
While I do not at all disagree with your position, I would like to point out that 400hz parts and 60 hz parts do not share a PN whatsoever. They are all unique PNs and NSNs.
I installed and set the mpu, installed the Gcu.
Looking closer, the pots are set differently on the replacement panel.
(See pic- top is newly installed 804a gcu, lower is original 804b gcu)
I adjusted the newly installed replacement panel to match the original. Didnt touch the freq or...
Interesting that its a different NSN, though they appear to be the same part. I pulled the cover and the board looks identical.
Think its a bad idea to try it?
What could be different? I confirmed the replacement is for a 15k gen set, though not sure which.
I ordered a NOS unit for relatively cheaper just before you posted. It came in today, and looks identical visually. The part number is slightly different. I dont know how the PN codes, out, but hopefully its interchangable because its in now. The replacement came with the pots clocked the same as...
This is the unit I have. Ive found some for sale on junkbay, but they dont have the 50/60hz frequency select circuit.
anyone have one? Woodward PN:0270-1036
Ive done some more digging tonight, after jumping pins 18-19 on the governor control board (the blue thing) the unit cranked when S1 was turned to start. I believe my issue lies within the governor board.
EDIT: Found a test for the GCU (A5) governor control board. using the attached test...
I am thoroughly confused. Number 42 in that diagram is clearly labelled K11 on the unit. K11 shows to be a voltage sensing relay, where S14 shows to be a crank disconnect switch. Why are both labelled in the -22 tech manual on page 2? There is no pin 18 and 19 on that relay , theres only 8 posts.
