Thank you all for your replies. To start I left the truck battery switch on and drained my batteries completely. I have been recharging them and they were under 15% charge at start. Due to my error in leaving the battery switch on and draining the batteries I figured why not try and build a...
I am still new to M939 series trucks. With the weather turning cold starting (CCAs) seem to be low even if I run two battery banks in a jump start formation. I would like to know if anyone has run multiple battery banks to be activated by toggles on the dash. Thus if your single (summer bank)...
Update, I replaced the PCB and still the same issue. The system jumps when I bypass the PCB. Once it's connected nothing turns on. Any thoughts? I know it's a good PCB.
No nothing moves with the battery switch on the dash. What I did do to check if it is the PCB is remove the primary cable and bypass it using wires from B-C and C-D. The truck fired up after a little crank to get fuel to the cylinders no longer than 5 seconds. Inside once on, the battery...
I checked and they looked good. The one with a red boot on both sides is in the correct spot it even has the epoxy still on the starter. Either it's a ground that is bad, which I looked for and found nothing. It started at Ft. Riley just fine so something had to change on transport. The...
I checked with a multimeter 24v to the system. No lights on dash or headlights work. Check the battery area for lose wires found 2 frayed. Patched and same issue. The mallet solution also didn't work. I am stumped, all grounds and cabling looks good. The only thing is the pcb that I cannot...
Thank You for the reply,
I did not notice any lights or the blower working indicating that there was 12v running in the system. I will double check later to validate this as it was late and I was tired.
I have searched the forums and found plenty of information about certain electrical parts, the issue is mine went out all at once. I just received my M923A2 from Ft. Riley of which ran when slave jumped by the seller to load onto the flat bed. The truck was shipped directly from Ft. Riley to...
So I won't register it yet however how much would GVW plates cost for this vehicle. If about 200 - 300 a year I can accept that, but I have a feeling that this is not the case. Is there any way I can help with the DMV?
Thanks for the hello. I have very little experience with military trucks however am a natural at engines and troubleshooting, it upsets auto shops. Since the engine is rather basic, reason why I wanted this rather than a F250 or Dodge 2500, to me only a few things can cause these issues. The...
I figure since it starts with jump and keeps running its likely the batteries and solenoid. I will try the old Army solution, give it the boot and see if that works, then try WD40 on the part. However good to know about the ground as I have had issues finding that in the past. How many...
Thanks for the info on the DMV in El Paso County. My research on this was limited and having it clear and from someone who has dealt with it before gives me more confidence in this area. Just cannot wait for Peterson AFB Guards to see me pulling this through the POV lane aua
Hi all,
I am located in Peyton Colorado, outside of Colorado Springs. Over the past month I have used this site for research on the best vehicle for me M923A1 or M923A2. I settled on the 1990 M923A2 8.3l Cummins, and it will be here sometime this week/weekend.

The only issues it...
